Me and my significant other have been trying to conceive for about 4 months and still no luck. Couple months back we used first response opk to confirm my fertile days (which I think I read wrong, it was super confusing). Then I said to myself I think I ovulate during my period Tmi Tmi sorry because I would have alot of stringy discharge during my period so I decided to buy the fancy digital clearblue opk (which was super easy) I started my period on June 26th and I started testing on that day and on the 28th I got a flashing smiley face so I would ovulate on July 2nd or the 3rd right after my period ends. So that's why I haven't been able to conceive! Does any one else have ovulation the day after their period ended and had a 19 day luetual phase and been able to conceive?

I don't believe you can ovulate during your period because your uterine lining is shedding and I believe ovulation the day after your is not likely because the egg would not have enough time to mature. If you do ovulate on July 2 or 3 than that would put you ovulating around CD 8/9 which indicates a short follicular phase. If you are ovulating this early the short follicular phase may be an issue in egg development. You can have multiple lh surges during your cycle so the positive OPK was not likely indicative of ovulation if it was during the middle of your period. My guess is you are o'ing a little later than you think. I was confused by OPKs when I first started using them. Just remember OPKs can never confirm ovulation only predict, you can have multiple lh surges in a cycle and not even ovulate. I would recommend picking up a basal thermometer from the store and start temping and charting to confirm your ovulation date and see your patterns. Temping also helps you detect potential issues that can make concieving more difficult like short luteal phase, short follicular phase and low progesterone. Good luck and I hope you decide to become an active member of the community.
