Very self indulgent post coming up:

I had contractions every 12 mins for 3 hours last night and was convinced we were off:happydance:, went to bed to get some rest and woke up very disappointed this morning:shrug: - what does this mean? Is it iminent or might I end up waiting days yet? Opinions please?

this happened to me last night! I had regular contractions from 5pm ish to almost midnight (around 8-10 mins apart) I was really tired and i thought I should get some rest, but when I woke up to go to the toilet at around 4am I realised they had completely stopped! And nothing since! Gutted!!x

this has happened to me a few times :( hope urs start again soon and dont stop untill the safe delivery of ur babby xx

I think stop-start contractions are really common in the lead up to labour :flower: I know with T i had a few evenings of strong braxton hicks getting more and more regular and then fizzling out in the week or so leading up to his birth (at 38+1)

Hopefully it means that labour is just around the corner for you hun :hugs:

(p.s. I'm SOOO EXCITED for you! :happydance: )

Omg, I came onto this section of the boards to post almost the exact same thing!

I've had contractions at about 15 min intervals all night for the last two nights, and then they've got further apart during the day (to about 20-30 mins apart). I'm glad there are other people who have this too :)

I found this article on prodromal labour that I found really useful: https://childbirthsolutions.com/articles/what-happens-during-labor/

I'm due to be induced tomorrow, so won't get to see where all these stop-start contractions lead, but I hope that they're getting my cervix ready for proper labour. *Fingers crossed* that the induction will be relatively straight-forward.

Good luck to you in your labour.

Mmmm - same again last night - with no results so I'm assuming it's just an indication that my body is preparing itself and hoping that it means things might be easier in the long run.
Thanks for that link - it made good reading and made me relax a bit.

Just waiting quietly now...
