Last time I monitored LO's heartrate was around 4 weeks ago I think. Was around 160. Checked today and it's around 140. Not sure the exact rate, but between 140 - 150. Is this ok? It's dropped and I'm kinda scared.. :(

That is normal, it's actually a good sign... it means its heart is maturing and starting to work properly (More efficiently).

lol I only know from the 5 million books I've read and videos online etc...

Mine dropped from 168 at around 13 weeks down to 148 at 19 weeks. Not sure of the in between since I don't have a doppler.

Mine went from 163 around 8 week and is now holding steady at 140!

A hospital nurse said that LO will have a "baseline" and move up from that, but only after nervous system is more developed. Until then anything between 110 and 160 is OK. I was in being monitored and LO's heartrate was between 130 and 165 and no one blinked an eyelash (even when I asked about it).

I hear you! My first ultrasound about 8 weeks was about 173 at 10 weeks was 183 at 13 weeks was 166 and yesterday was at 156 I was like hmmm is going down doc is that ok?? she said yep everything is ok...phew!

Totally normal :)
I know at 8 weeks his was 157 and started slowly going lower and lower. Now he's around 140

Hi chick, my lo's was 172 at 8 weeks scan then was only 152 at 18 weeks so yes it does drop, my consultant said at my 8 week scan that it does slow down the further along you get in pregnancy. All perfectly normal babes xx

Perfectly normal.

In fact, I was told that a fluctuating heartbeat shows a very healthy heart. Your baby's activity may vary from time to time- sometimes he'll be asleep, other times engrossed in a kicking marathon. :haha:

The average frame would be 110-180, but I was told that even heart rates slightly lower and higher can be normal too.

My baby's heart rate has been:

-165BPM @ 13 weeks.
-145 @ 17 weeks
- 129 @ 18 weeks
- 155 @ 22 weeks.

At 7 weeks it was 133, at 8 weeks it was 176, and at 12 weeks it was 157. All is well!

If it didn't lower as you progress I'd be more worried xx shows the heart is functioning well.
