Hi ladies, we have our 2nd fs appointmnt in just under 2 weks time following my lap & dye (found endo) to discuss clomid. At our 1st appointment they requested a SA, my dh has had a letter this week saying that they are in receipt of the results and would like him to do another  Is this normal?? I have got myself all wound up now thinking that there must be something wrong

Can any of you shed any light on whether this is normal procedure or whether it does indicate that there is a problem

Hey hun try not to worry i am in edinburgh and before the fs would even put us on the waiting list we had to have handed in two SA a month apart even though the first was absolutely fine. I am sure its just protocol. Good luck to you x

thank you, i need to remember that theres no point worrying about something that hasnt happened yet  I guess it probably is just normal procedure

Hiya, just wanted to say the same thing happened to us. At the 1st appointment they asked for a sample, then at the 2nd appointment we saw a different doctor and she said "you do realise you're meant to give 2 samples don't you?" Which we didn't, so he had to go and do it again. I think their reasoning is it takes 3 months for sperm to be produced, so you need more than one test result in case of any temporary factors. This proved to be the case for us - 1st result came back low, but DH had had flu, stressed after my mc, and stressed with a new job. All these type of things affect sperm production. When he had the 2nd test it came back much better because all of those factors were no longer an issue.

Good luck, try not to worry too much xx
