for me to be sterilising bottles and making my 3 ounces of water in the bottles in bulk then adding the formula powder when she is ready for a feed or should i be making both fresh, abigail doesnt have warm bottles so takes a long time to cool them down even in cold water can anyone help?? xx

Hi HUn, thats fine. put the bioled water in the bottle then just pop the powder in when you use it. Although you need to heat the water up before added the powder. Apparently the formula is not sterile and has bacteria so added it to hot/ warm water kills all the bad things. xxx

Oo and just to add i would only make up a days ( 24hrs) worth at a time though. Then make the next days up the next morn. x

ah thanks i had been in hospital up until tuesday using their bottles so i was doing it in bulk but then it dawned on me maybe i shouldnt xx

ive always made my bottles that way...the night befiore, i make up enough for the next day, just the water, then add the formula as and when its needed, had no probs so far!
x

I have to do that anyway coz emilys on staydown formular which means formular has to be added to cold water x

I make my botts 3 at a time - and keep in the fridge once cooled angel - HV would go spare but then again... whats new lol, aslong as they arnt for longer than a day all my friends do it like this too xxx

I did this for a few days but my baby is terribly constipated, I don't think it is related to the way I made up the bottles but just to be on the safe side I'm making them fresh according to guidelines now, but I know a lot of people add the powder when needed and give feeds at room temp with no problems x x

I always made Anna's bottles fresh - the recommended way on the tub.....but I have a shortcut if you do want them made fresh.

If you want to make a 3oz bottle, boil kettle, put 1oz boiled from kettle into bottle and add your 3 scoops - then add 2 oz cooled water and then you have fresh made and perfect temperature too no need to wait to cool:flower:
