Is it possible to ovulate with raised levels of HCG?

Ok, so according to fertility friend I am on CD17 straight after a mmc, I have been intermittently taking OPK or HPT and all have been positive. The last HPT I took was yesterday morning with FMU and although fainter then the others a positive was still clearly visible.

I started recording my BBT again Wednesday and am now slightly worried as my temperature for the last 3 days have spiked;

Is it possible to ovulate while your HCG Levels are raised? I really hope it isn't as me and DH aren't ttc again until tomorrow and I will be gutted if I have missed out already.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated xx

I am pretty sure when they give shots to encourage ovulation they give HCG because it is so close to LH. So the HCG might be a good thing. But I am wondering are you sure you miscarried? I dont know alot about this but I would think 2 weeks later the HCG would be out of your system? I am sorry to pry, I am sure you are having a hard time dealing anyhow. But it just seems like 2 weeks later you would have a neg HPT?

Thanks DarlingMe, unfortunately a scan revealed a miscarriage and I didn't pass the actual sac until Monday just gone so I think it took a while for my body to realise our LO wasn't with us any more.

It can take wks for hcg to leave your system after mc.i dont know about ov.i dont think you ov for awhile if at all this cycle as your body will need time to recover after the mc.

I was reading the other day that the embryo can hide behind the sac and they misdiagnose a blighted ovum. A few weeks later they find out they still had a viable pregnancy. But if you have passed the sac and it looks like you had quite a bit of bleeding....
I hope that you didnt miss your chance. I know alot of others have been through this so I am sure you will get some more responses.

I know Hayley I just want to be pregnant again so bad! I feel like I didn't get a chance to enjoy it last time because it was snatched away too soon!

I have grieved and will always remember our first LO but the urge to be a Mummy is stronger then ever since I found out I can actually fall pregnant!

Fingers crossed the pregnancy will have sorted out my ovulation issues!

Hi, not sure if this help or not but my sister mc at 7 weeks and then ovulated 2 weeks after. She didnt do any tests etc but she was bleeding for about 10 days after the mc x

Thanks dreamofabean, that does help! Did she have natural or assisted miscarriage? The only reason I ask is because the bleeding has gone on for 15 days BUT I only passed the LO Monday just gone and I know my levels didn't start dropping until Sunday/Monday as my tests have only just started getting lighter.

God it's so confusing!

It was a natural mc hun. She ovulated a couple of days after the bleeding stooped.

Oh thank you my chickadee, that means there is hope for us yet! I am trying not to get too excited as I don't want to get all disappointed! I am feeling rather full of PMA at the moment

Well for my sister there was good and bad news! She also conceived that cycle but mced at 10 weeks. However she has since been told that she should have been given an anti-d injection after her 1st mc and wasn't, so that is probs why she mced again. So it is definitely possible honey!!x
