Is it safe to put battery operated fairy lightS outside?

I really wanted some lights to decorate my two shrubs outside my front door but can only find indoor battery operated ones so bought them anyway- is it safe? X

I think so but cover the battery pack with a plastic bag to keep it from getting wet x

You can get 100 battery operated indoor/outdoor lights from Poundstretchers for £8.99!! But yeah you could cover the battery box with a poly bag!x
