For me to jump on a trampoline during early pregnancy? what about if im just sitting and slightly bum bouncing whilst my kids jump around me ? ive heard some people jump on trampolines to bring on labour and the last i was on a trampoline my period came so im slightly worried it will cause me to mc thanks to anyone who knows as we brought my son a trampoline for his 3rd birthday x

My doctor told me that jumping wouldn't hurt the baby/cause a miscarriage. He just said for physical activity, to stop if it was uncomfortable. Miscarriages aren't caused by exercise, they're caused by things largely out of your control. Those are my two cents :). If you're worried, you can just sort of lightly jump/ sit on the edge with your son while he jumps...

I wouldn't Jump personally. Not even on the ground nevermind a trampoline. Id sit on the edge tho but probably not everyday. I'm no expert but that what I feel comfortable with and my mum told me off when I jumped when I found out I was pregnant too! Haha and I do as my mum says! X

Miscarriages are not caused by exercise or jumping, almost all early miscarriages are caused by chromosomal abnormalities and are completely out of our control. Your cervix is completely closed and jumping won't open it (neither will sex). But if you do jump on a trampoline and end up miscarrying, make sure you will be comfortable knowing that one didn't cause the other. In other words, if it's going to cause you anxiety, I don't think you should do it!

I know up until 6 weeks the baby is still implanting so I'd avoid it until then as I wouldn't take the risk of it not being able to attach properly.

I agree with pp. I personally wouldn't do it, but not out of fear of the jumping. For one, cuz I'm very clutsy and would, with my luck, fall off the trampoline and hit my stomach or something. For another, because I have a highly irritable uterus and was on complete bedrest my last pregnancy and am being threatened with total bedrest with my next pregnancy already.

But m/c's are, as pp said, caused by chromosomal abnormalities.

If you're gonna stress out about it and make yourself sick, don't worry about it. If you can see that it would not cause it, and if, god forbid, you do m/c, won't blame yourself anymore than any of us do if we m/c (I am an angel mommy and trust me, it's impossible to stop yourself from blaming yourself in some way), then go ahead.

:hugs:

The up and down of the trampoline would not cause miscarriage. My doctor said I could go on splash mountain or tower of terror at Disney. All rides that make your stomach drop. But be careful that you don't fall or hurt yourself!!!

Really?
My Dr said complete opposite.
She said you're safe to carry on exercising but for first 6 weeks avoid strenuous stomach activities as placenta etc will be attaching and extreme activities such as theme park rides/tons of sit ups etc may present a risk of it not attaching securely.
Even now I'm advised not to go on roller-coasters and I'm having a normal low risk pregnancy so far.

Thank you everyone for your replies, very very helpful xxx

well my sil found me lightly bum-jumping on a trampoline with her little girls and i was 8 weeks and she burst into tears and told me she'd mc'd at 6 weeks after being on the trampoline - i agree with previous comments - mc are out of our control and mostly due to chromosomes but i just wouldn't risk it... xxx

I think my doctor is really lenient. As I don't know if I def. will go on those rides. She said to avoid the roller coasters that jerk you side to side, but the ones that make your stomach drop like splash and tower or terror are okay. I am not going until 16 weeks though so maybe she would have said differently if it was prior to 6 weeks.
