is it that odd?

At Christmas, my friend who has a 17 month old, admitted with a shameful look that she was still BFing. She visibly relaxed when I said I had done it up to 18 months and would have kept going if I felt like it. And she's from Sweden where BFing is far more socially accepted and happens far more often.

Bottom line is, stop when you want to (or when LO does!). I quite agree, why go through the hassles of starting with formula if it's not necessary. I also agree with FF mummies sharing their stories of woe about BFing. I never once asked or judged any of the mums I met but without fail. every single one would launch into a loooong story about why they didn't. And frankly, I didn't care how they fed their wee ones or why. I never felt guilty for BFing, cos if they had issues, that wasn't my problem! (Although I am always sad for the mums that really wanted to but couldn't)

Carry on, smile and remind people BFing is working for you and LO and that's all that matters.
