Hi there. Maybe it's early of me to be thinking of baby names since i'm just starting using Fertibella ttc (wish me luck! baby dust!), but I was wondering... is Japhy too weird a name? I have so many girl names in my head, but boy names are so hard bc they're either super effeminate sounding or super average. I was wondering what you all think of the name Japhy? I found it in an Ernest Hemingway book and you don't hear it all too often... I don't want my kid to get picked on... but I think it sounds kind of unique and cute. Thoughts?

Japhy sounds too much like Jaffa too me, which is a slang word for being infertile!

I'd keep looking for your perfect name :flower:

I'm not all that keen - it sounds more like a nickname than a real name. I have only ever heard it as short for Japhet. It is certainly unusual though, and the literary connection is a nice touch!

I,ve never heard it so not sure how its pronounced, but not keen to be honest :flower:

I just thought of Jaffa Cakes, when I said Japhy aloud. Not keen hun, sorry :flower:

Sorry hun, I do find it a bit strange. How about Jasper instead - that is cute :)

Ha Ha, I had no idea about Jaffa!

Jasper is cute... but does it work for people... or just pets?

i think japhy is odd.... but the odd isn't allways bad, but i think a child called this would allways have to say how to pronounce their name and could get teased... jasper is a cool name!
