I'm such a worrier everything I eat I panic after

So is it ok, to eat anything they do at mcdonalds?

I hope so, I've eaten loads of the yummy stuff..nom nom

here is some stuff i found on google what not to eat in pregnancy

* Alcohol: Alcohol in any amount is unsafe for the health and development of your baby.
* Un-pasteurized Juices: Un-pasteurized juice can harbor bacteria that can affect you and your baby. Unless you've washed, squeezed and bottled the juice yourself, you have no idea how it was handled before it got to you. The process of pasteurization should kill all bacteria, making it a safe during pregnancy.

* Smoked/Cured Meats and Deli Meats: Cold cuts and smoked meats can harbor bacteria like E. coli and listeria, which can be very dangerous for a pregnant woman and her baby. Avoid them during pregnancy, as well hot dogs — even the ones you make at home.

* Fish: although fish is generally safe to eat during pregnancy, certain large fish which prey on smaller fish may have unsafe levels of mercury in their flesh. Avoid shark, swordfish, tilefish and king mackerel during pregnancy. Limit tuna to smaller types of tuna, and canned tuna, to about 6 ounces (170 g) per week.

* Soft Cheeses: Certain soft cheeses can harbor bacteria as well — stick with hard or pasteurized cheese.

* Sushi: Raw fish and shellfish are definitely not safe to eat during pregnancy. They can harbor hepatitis, bacteria and parasites, all dangerous to women and their fetuses. If you love your sushi, plan to have some delivered to the hospital room after you've given birth as a reward for depriving yourself for the last nine months!

Ladies, I hate to tell you this, but McDonald's is totally terrible stuff for you...and your baby!!!!!

You can get better quality salt (celtic), fat (nitrate free bacon? avocados), carbs (sweet potatoes?) and protein elsewhere.

Here's one of many reasons to STAY AWAY (from Dr. Cate Shanahan's awesome book Deep Nutrition):

I would think the odd burger will be fine as long as it isn't every day :)

I went through a week of eating non stop junk food early on, now my craving is all for fruit. MaccyDs won't do you any harm, but don't live off them! xx

I ate mcdonalds with my other two pregnancies and they turned out fine...

Not the milkshakes - but everything else is fine :) in moderation x

The milkshakes aren't but yes you can have everything else.

my best friend ate mcdonaols everyday while pregnant an she has a healthy happy little boy. I am going to try and limit myself to one fast food outing a week!

Maccyd has always been a terrible thing to eat, but if the lady wants it it's her choice. It's not going to harm her baby if she has a burger now and again, it's her choice so please don't try forcing anything other than what a diet doctor says is bad for you, because obviously is it bad but it's up to the person in question if she wants it or not.

*major panic*

Just read on the mcdonalds website that the milkshakes are made from pasturised milk only and they machines are cleaned and sterilised once a week and daily.

Still panicking.....

Cupcake don't panic it's actually the UNpastuized milk that you should stay away from. Pasturized is ok. But even if it was the bad kind, One milkshake likely will do you no harm. The danger would be if you consumed it on a very regular basis.
:-)
And mcdonalds is fine to eat once in a while but its just not a healthy diet for a pregnant woman to live off of.

Thanks, feel better now. I wouldn't have had it in the first place if I had had any doubts it was unsafe. Sometimes get major panic then realised its actually okay. Perhaps won't have another though!!

Me too! They're like major cravings so I had a few especially early on! Really worried ='[

I filled my boots at maccy d's last night....!!!

Don't worry, emyandpotato I read on the Mcdonald's website that they only used pasturised milk which is fine. Like babylove719 said its unpasturised that we have to watch out for. After reading a bit more not many places use unpasturised milk as far as i can see.

Everyone has the right to eat what they want. She asked if it was bad for you. Should I lie?
Ps I am a doctor.
