So I have been EB and LO will be 4 weeks tomorrow. We haven't supplemented and he eats every 1-3 hours during the day, and every 3-4 hours at night. Today I was at my OB for a UTI, and told her that my PP bleeding stopped at 3 weeks, and turned red again yesterday (not as heavy as before, but definitely red/pink). She said very flippantly that it was just probably my period back. I told her I was EB and she said "well it's uncommon but happens." Is this even possible?! I figured it was just another round of PP bleeding, or maybe because I started exercising again? could it really be my period? Thanks for any thoughts, I'm new to all this! :)

you can get your period back even while EBF. It's a myth that it doesn't. I got mine back at 5 months and I was EBf and she fed frequently and thru the night. 4 weeks does seem pretty early but it is possible.

It can happen, it happened to me! And if it isn't your cycle, remember that even when BF and no period, you can still get pregnant!

Thanks! I guess i will treat it like my period, as getting pregnant right now is certainly not in the cards! :) I just figured it would be months until it was back, glad to know that this is a myth before it was too late :-O

Its pretty common for bleeding to stop and then start again, way more common than getting your period 4 weeks pp when EBFing. I stopped bleeding at 2 weeks and started bleeding again at 6 weeks. MW told me it was my period but if it was I haven't had another one, it is not unusual to have irregular cycles to start with but I posted about it and found it had happened to quite a few women and it wasnt their period just pp bleeding. So not saying its impossible to be your period but I think it's more likely that its not, really the only way to know is wait a couple of months and see if you get another.

It could just be the end of your pp bleed. I stopped bleeding at 4 weeks but then had a small bleed at 6 weeks (bright red blood) and nothing since.

Especially if you have started exercising again you could have irritated yourself. I'm not saying its not your period returning but I would guess at a pp bleed xx

I would say more likely to be a resumption of PP bleeding; although its not commonly known this can continue on and off for up to 12 weeks, even longer in some cases. xx
