My LO has been miserable since about Wednesday but last night and all of today my gosh she has been more miserable than someone who has a really good reason to be miserable. :nope:

I had to go back to work after the summer hols but she only had two days with the CM. When I picked her up Friday she had a temperature and was very tired. I gave her some neurofen which brought it down but all night she was soooo hot and up and down. Well i think yesterday I spotted two little white bits of teeth - she is 10 1/2 months and none yet - well she has been awful today. I have tried poweders, gel, an ice pop, neurofen.

I know babies are absolutely miserable when they teeth - but are they normally this bad? Or should I be worried it is more than this?

Aww hun, poor Phoebe!

I'm sorry to say that Earl had a major 5 day bout which lasted over the whole of the week before last. His teeth are now literally bulging through his gums! The only thing I can suggest is plenty of remedies (calpol, bonjela, powders, ice teethers) and plenty of comfy clothes and walks to get some fresh air if you can (I know with her being at the CM it's difficult) but walks work wonders for Earl.

Also, at night I would give Earl milk when he woke as the teething can upset their tummies and make the whole thing very uncomfortable. He got really bad gas and would only sleep upright for a night  A bottle whenver he woke, and a dose of gripe water seemed to help a lot the next night and he was back to normal within 3 nights (still having to give 1 bottle but I think that's a growth spurt thing too - they always seem to coincide).

I hope he feels better soon. Earl seems to just wake up one day back to normal so hopefully she'll do the same. :hugs:

Randomly... does she wear an amber necklace? I know loads of people thing it's utter fooey, but either it works, or we've been incredibly lucky with our LO's teeth

She didn't have any for months and months, then did 3 inside the space of a week  2 top eyeteeth and 1 bottom incisor. She now has 5 - 4 across the top and the same bottom one. Other than one evening of grumbling (which I'm not sure was about teeth), she has been absolutely fine. I also use Anbesol liquid and Nelson's teetha granules if she is very dribbly or shoving her hands in her mouth a lot.

So far so good. It might be worth a try, if you don't find it helps, you could sell the necklace on :hugs:

Hope Phoebe feels better soon :hugs:

Been thinking about getting a teething necklace for a while back - might try it - anything to avoid today again.

and thanks for the 'Anbesol' name was at a christening today and someone swore by it and i'd forgotton what it was called!

You're welcome! I *love* Anbesol. It doesn't taste as nice as Bonjela, but it actually sticks to their gums because it's a liquid. I find that Bonjela slides off, and that's just using it on myself, never mind trying to get it into the mouth of a wriggly baby!
