Hey,

I have been really cautious with what i eat during my pregnancy and not sure if i am just worrying for nothing.

I have bought for lunch a microwave meal from Marks and Spencer- it is a creamy mushroom risotto. I have had a look on the back and the two things that are worrying me are the Regato cheese and the single cream.

I have looked online and the Regato cheese is a hard cheese i think so guessing that is okay? Will the cream be pasterurised? Or does it not matter anyway if i am cooking it?

Any help would be appreciated!

It will be fine as its heated up, I doubt they would use unpasteurised cream. Even if they did - zapping it in the miscrowave would kill any bacteria x

You're cooking it to piping hot so its fine. You can even eat blue unpasteurused cheeses as long as they're cooked (eg in a tart) x

I'm 100% sure the cream will be pasteurised as I dot think its legal to have it as part of a ready meal without it being pasteurised. They would certainly have to label it as unpasturised.

Also for what it's worth I think you need to be more careful about food in the first trimester, but if you were to get sick now in the 3rd trimester I don't think it would affect baby much at all, apart from being uncomfortable.

Oo I'm not so sure about that RKW. Listeriosis for example is very bad at any stage in pregnancy (albeit rare) https://www.babycenter.com/0_listeriosis-during-pregnancy_9528.bc x

Thanks everyone! I tend to be a bit of a worrier- so your comments have put my mind at ease :)

You're cooking it sobit doesn't matter. You've also given me a huge craving - may pop over to m&s!
