Just wondered if there was anyone who doesnt have AF at all?

Im looking for a buddy i can moan to....

I'll try in the TTC section too, but i think im all alone

 ME!!!!!!

I went 9 years without getting AF naturally. I was taking Progesterone every cycle to bring on my cycles each and every time. Now, since going on a steroid called Dexamethason in conjunction with Clomid, I have started to O and my last two cycles came naturally.

I so understand your pain and if you ever need anyone to moan too, I'm your gal! I totally understand!!!! :hugs:

I just wondered when taking the progesterone, did u actually ovulate?

I have tried Norethisterone, but didnt get a withdrawal bleed.

Hi hun,

I can go 4 or 5 months with no af. Cannot predict it at all. My G.P hasn't helped me at all with this in the last 16 months so i got a second opinion and was referred to a F.S specialist immediately.

If your G.P is unhelpful, a second opinion might help. Good luck because I completely understand your frustration xx

Hi hun

I also don’t get AF so I totally know how frustrating it is. :hugs:And I don’t even know why I don’t get AF as I don’t have PCOS.
I’m on Clomid now to TTC, but so far I haven’t ovulated on it- I'm on 100mg and now have a cyst. I don’t think progesterone will help you ovulate, it will just induce a withdrawal bleed.

Good luck to you!

Im still waiting for AF after depo ran out 8 months ago. Blood tests, apparently, all normal ( i say apparently 'cos a locum doc said they were normal but he didnt look confident) and no withdrawal from norethisterone. Docs wont do anything til its been a year. Its 8, going on 9 months since depo ended.

I cant seem to find any other ex depo users on here who still dont have AF so thought id ask if there was anyone around who doesnt get AF for any reason.

I dont feel i fit in anywhere cos no one (only you girls who dont have AF for many months) understands the frustration of TTC when i havent got a cycle.

So Progesterone does not make you ovulate. It only brings on your period. I had (until 2 months ago) take Provera to bring on my period, take Clomid to bring on ovulation (which did not work until last month) and then wait until cd34, blood test to get a :bfn: and then do it all over and over again. Can you say depressing?! :(

I would say go to a different doctor. Explain that you are not getting your cycle at all. Did you have normal periods before depo?

I'm another one who doesn't get AF.
Saying that I am on CD19 (still no O so looking at another mega long cycle) but my last cycle was 6 months long :(

That sounds like a complete nightmare!

When i spoke to one of the docs at my surgery they said that they dont prescibe clomid, and that the FS does that, but i cant get referd until ive been waiting a year.
Thats so depressing too. :hissy:

do the docs do anything to help u?

I have not had a period since June 27th... that was only brought on by the Follistim injections I had to take to ovulate for my IUI.

Progesterone alone has never made me have a period. Birth Control pills make me have one every month, but for obvious reasons, taking the pill is not really an option!

I haven't had one since early August and before that it was late April. Not fun at all. It's really bugging my husband, though, (strangely enough) so I'm going to be going to a doc soon.

Me, im 8 days late again after coming of my progesterone tabs.. i had spotting a day after normal AF was due, but no luck with a for real AF...

I agree i also don't think i was ovulating on the progesterone tabs as i got a temp spike the day i took the stronger tabs on my postoval....

Im right there with you girls now... back to no AF and alot of pain in the ovaries area...:cry::cry:

In a word, no.
They do lots of bloods to see whats going on with my cycle but I've never been prescribed progesterone or anything :hissy:
I'm at the point now where I'd b celebrating if I got a +ve on an OPK, never mind a HPT! :headspin:

I know what u mean!! Id be exactly the same, i keep trying now and again, when i think i might be cos of my CM, but havent even had a 2nd line, never mind a pos!!!

Hi!
I was wondering if you are sure you dont have PCOS? I have it but was misdiagnosed for years as my bloods were within normal range, but when they finally deleved a bit deeper, my LH levels were sky high, but my testosterone wasnt too bad. Gybecologists didnt think it was much of a problem, but once i demanded to see a endocrinologist, they found it straight away!!

Here is a list of symptoms:

Infrequent menstrual period and/or irregular bleeding
Infertility because of not ovulating
Increased growth of hair on
face/body
Acne, oily skin, or dandruff
Pelvic pain
Weight gain or obesity
Type 2 diabetes
High cholesterol
High blood pressure
Male-pattern baldness or thinning
hair
Darkened skin on neck, arms,
breasts, or thighs
Skin tags
Sleep apnea

If your not having AF (i rarely get it I've had three in the last year, and thats bloomin amazing for me!!) you should be able to fast track to the FS, as you are obviously not fuctioning appropriately. I find if I nag my GP, he eventually gives in LOL! Ask again! you have nothing to loose!

Hope this helps
Tracy xxxx

PCOS is such a hard one because a lot of docs know little or nothing about it. It's also hard to diagnose because there are so many symptoms and ways it can pop up.

I even had one doctor get stroppy with me about the fact they found only one cyst and the 'P' of PCOS is poly (meaning more than one).

Argh.

Haha I've just said more or less that in my journal!
Tracy has a very good point, I have poly-cystic ovaries (still undiagnosed PCOS :dohh:) and under the FS who doesn't really give a sh!t, I'm seeing them again in January and if no luck I'm going to ask to be referred to the Reproductive Endocrinologist.
Have you had any investigations done?
Ozbutterfly, hope you find a doctor who is more sympathetic and knowledgeable about PCOS!

Thanks, Vickie. I'm actually going to a family planning clinic soon and they assist in those types of things, so I'll be very surprised if anyone there gives me trouble.

Thanks for this.
I have often wondered if i have PCOS. I have been diagnosed with secondary infertility due to lack of periods from depo. I have excess facial hair. I have dark hairs from my chin, and lower side of my face  i hate admitting this, but i regularly pluck them, or shave them with my beauty trimmer! And i have dark hair around my belly button.
I also have dandruff, which will only clear with a special shampoo.
I quite often get pelvic pain on my left side. I have had a scan 14months ago, and nothing showed up. I dont think they scanned my right side tho.
I am very overweight.
I have loads of skin tags, tiny ones around my neck, and larger ones under my arms.
And i have had sleep apnea, on a couple of occasions.

I sound so attractive dont i???!!! :rofl::rofl::rofl:

LOL, so could i have it? even if the scan didnt show anything?
