To get this going already???? I was in l&d on Monday morning contracting 6 min apart...I've been at 3cm last week now 3 1/2 this week...they had us walk the halls...no change..((...said my cervix was still high and thick and no bloody show yet. I've been trying lots of sex...so not working...spicy foods....walking, walking, walking....I have my on appoint today just wondering if they can do something if I still have my plug and its still high and thick

I didn't want to read and run. How frustrating for you! I have no idea if they can try and induce you at that stage? Our antenatal teacher puts emphasis on pressure on the cervix to get things going and says that walking up the stairs, sideways, opens everything up and gets things moving. May be worth a try. Good luck, I hope things get going for you soon, you can't be far away now!

My best advice to you is to make a cup of tea, have a hot bath, do some yoga, and sleep sleep sleep. I tried everything in the book and didn't go into labor until I'd given up trying to self-induce!

After a few hours of walking while in labour with DS I hadn't changed from 2 cm but my contractions were every 3 mins apart so they gave me pitocin and even though I had to lay in bed after that and my contractions changed and were not regular I dilated faster.
