Hello I'm Carolina and my story is more like a plea or a begging prayer some what out of desperation. I have IC lost my first baby at 20 weeks, it wasn't until after I lost my second baby at 19 weeks that I was finally put into the IC category. I have been trying to have a baby for 8 years now with 7 pregnancy loss of which 5 of them I lost even with the vaginal cerclages. My last was a baby girl name Amelia at 21 weeks, it devastated me, I had so much hope in this pregnancy not even the bedrest seemed to bother me, I picked her name and stared at my sonograms for hours at a time. I had all my energy on doing the best I can for my babygirl but in the end the outcome was the same as before, it was so difficult because she was born alive and looked just like me. I was and still am heart broken and lost after so many attempts at motherhood and so many failures, there is little to nothing that can restore my faith. I am 29 years old now and I want to try again but I cant risk another lost so my question is...do I have hope? is there something out there that can truly help me have a baby? I live in Puerto Rico if anyone knows of something I can do please please give me hope.

ask about getting started on progestrone supplements, too. right when you find out you are pregnancy, demand progestrone - pills, the kind you insert or even shots. then once you hit 14 weeks, get on prog. shots RIGHT away. they are called 17 Hydrox P or sometimes just 17 P (look it up online for more info). you get the shot EVERY week until about 35/36 weeks. have a cerclage placed, too, buy a maternal fetal specialist. you really need to see a high risk doctor. also, once you get to 24 weeks, demand a steriod shot for the baby's lungs.

I'm so sorry to hear of your losses

I would post something in the premature section, I know some of the ladies in there have had IC and got to even 25+ weeks and had preemies who have lived...they might be able to give you some advice. xxxx

carolina2123: I'm so sorry for all you have been through! I too have an ic. I was just diagnosed this pregnancy @ 22 wks and have been on complete bed rest since then. I'm now 33 +3days. I have 2 other boys that were full term so this is definitely new territory for me. I don't have a cerclage, because I was dilated and funneling.
I have found so much amazing support on this board under https://www.babyandbump.com/gestati...cervix-stitch-cerclage-threatened-labour.html

There are SO many women who are knowledgeable and have experience gone through and are going through this. There are many success stories here. Please post there! Best of luck to you (((hugs)))

Hi, I am so sorry for your losses.

I do not have any experience of this personally but I read an article in the paper a few months ago about a lady that had a similar story to yours. She ended having an abdominal cerclage due to IC as repeated attempts at cervical cerclage did not work. I am sorry I can not be more help, I just saw your story and recalled this article. Maybe it could be something to look into?

Best of luck to you. You really deserve it.

hi hun... first and foremost im sooooo sorry for ur losses. secondly yes there is hope. never lose hope... keep ur faith.

my advice would be to start progesterone pessaries from week 14...start aspirin as soon as...asked to have vaginal swabs every 4 weeks to make sure u have no underlying infections (thrush BV etc)...get ur urine tested regurlarly to keep uti's at bay. These are general things to help......medically u need an abdominal stitch if they havnt tried that already (check it up). apparently thats tied from the stomach and in true IC patients is almost as 98% effective.

But most of all u need a proper decent high risk consultant who will offer you support, scans, medication, advice and surgical options.

You need to make sure u only suffer from IC and that you dont have any other underlying problem. seriously find yourself a decent consultant thats your starting point.

p.s. with all the above advice plz make sure ur under consultant led care before self medicating yourself. these are all things that helped me and could help you.

take care and lots of luck xxx
