Is there such a thing as too much movement?

I am so happy to feel LO so much - first started feeling LO move at 19wks, usually just at night for a bit. Since then it has gradually increased so that now I am feeling LO move virtually all the time - sometimes kicks under my ribs or either side of my stomach and sometimes low down bounces or kicks to my bladder etc. Quite often at night my tummy is moving non-stop. The only time she seems to stop is when I go to sleep at night but then I usually feel her move a bit when I get up to go to the loo or when I wake up in the morning. She seems really, really active and sometimes I wonder what shes up to in there!

Im sat at my desk now and I can feel her wriggling under my boobs. I think it would be virtually impossible to do the kick count of how long it takes to feel 10 movements as she moves SO much and I bet I feel her individual movements 50+ times a day (maybe closer to 100 times or more - Ive not counted!) I also feel hicups now about once a day too... :cloud9:

Im going to mention it to my Doctor at my 30wk appointment next week - but just in the meantime - is it ok to feel so much movement or could baby be wriggling and kicking because shes distressed? I dont have a midwife so I dont have anyone to phone before my Doctors appointment....

Any one else finding their LO is having a party in their tummy?! :happydance:

LO has a party in my tummy most days, but then every now and again has a day or two off - think baby is worn out (I know that i am!). May be normal for your baby, as each is different xx

I think the general idea is any pattern (with a minimum nunber of movements) is fine and you only need to worry if the pattern suddenly changes.

You may as well ask your midwife but i'm sure it's all fine.

In fact I'm jealous, I only notice about the minimum of 10-15 during waking hours - I would love the reassurance of constant movement!

Sounds like you might be in for an active baby though ... fun times ahead!

I know the feeling and wish that I could join in with the party instead of being at work!

When I'm sat at my desk, I can usually feel him moving about constantly, and if i'm sat too close to the desk for his liking I usually get a swift kick as if to tell me that I need to move

OH and I keep saying we are going to be run ragged when LO comes along if she keeps this up!!! :)

my LO moves so much im always asking my MW if its ok, i was a bit worried as i hardly felt my son move when i was pregnant with him and he was a hyperactive child !! this LO doesnt stop, im always making moan and groan sounds when she kicks me or has really heavy movements..its worse at night time... just hope she isnt like this when she is out..

There was a story on here recently where it was mentioned someone got 'too much' movement which was a sign of distress, it got me paranoid but when I spoke to my MW she laughed it off and said all movement is good. As a previous poster said it's the pattern that is important more than the amount of movement! x

i was thinking this LOL.
i don't think my baby sleeps i can feel her still now and she's meant to be calming down these next few weeks, dont see that happening!
i started getting movements about 19-20 weeks and since then she hasn't stopped so i feel your pain lol xx

i asked my mw this when my baby has an active day he doesn't stop she said its all good !!! dont worry hun just enjoy being beaten up !!!
