Yesterday afternoon i tested with a Boots early pregnancy test i got a faint but definite line (tryed to get a piccie for tweak but couldnt get the right lighting!) so i tested again about 2 hours later but minimul pee came out and it was about 8pm - negative, my partner then got me tesco tests for this morning these ones are not early response ones it was nagative with the first urine of the day. didnt sleep a wink last night Im so confused and a total mess??? I dont understand was this first one a false positive? it must hae detected the hormone for a line!! i have such bad cystitus today and dont want to take anything for it just in case, what should i do? but more boots tests? wait a bit longer? go to the doctors? or just give up ??

im in limbo!!

any advice would be great!!

:( :( :'(

It could have been an evaporation line or a positive. The second pee could have been weaker since you recently went to the bathroom before that. Also, if the test you took in the morning wasn't an early detection test, you may not have enough hcg to be detected. I would wait a day to either allow your hcg levels to increase to make the positive clearer or to show that it was strictly an evaporation line. Hoping for that clear BFP!

As Raylansmum said. Could have been an evap line or a positive. Wait a day or 2 and test with a different test in the morning (more concentrated). This way your hCG levels will have accumulated enough to provide more accuracy.

Good luck! Hope it's a true :bfp:!!

i shall wait a few days then, and use prob a clear blue or first response!

Thanks for your time xxx

False positives are not as likely as the false negatives. The doctors say that the morning pee is the most accurate. Likely when you went again, it wasn't as potent. I would wait till the morning and test again. GL, sounds like we will hear a :bfp: from you in the next 24 hours!

I know right :haha:

In the early stages, it dilutes the doc says so that first one is most important. When we were doing IUI at the clinic, they had us implant first thing in the AM, and I mean first thing. Instructed to hold the pee until we could pee on the stick first... probably the hardest part... :haha:

I used to do laboratory pregnancy tests until I had to retire.

We used the Lab version of Clear Blue which was a 10 iu/ml test kit.

We requested the first urine of the day, as this is always more concentrated than the rest of the days samples.

Tests were left for 5 minutes, timed with a digital timer. If there was any 2nd line as well as the control line, no matter how faint, it was recorded as positive.

10 iu/ml, is equivalent to the early response test kits, therefore, as others have suggested, get another early response and test with the first urine of the day, it sounds like it will be positive, good luck

PS, those are the tests I will use myself

Ok, so???? Did you retest yet???

aww, kidney infections suck!!! Sorry to hear that....drink lots of water and cranberry juice. Cranberry juice actually creates a lining in the ureter/kidneys helping to prevent the bacteria from adhering to it. This way, it flushes out quicker! That's why they suggest cranberry pills. Hope you feel better soon!!!

Hope your :bfp: is soon!

Well of course, I really try to keep up with the ladies of BnB as support and calming is an important factor in the "process." Soooo sorry to hear that the kidneys are acting up. CRANBERRY this CRANBERRY that for a little, and feel better soon.:hugs:
