Is this a first tooth? In weird place.

My LO is 8 months old and hasn't got any teeth yet. I noticed a small white dot on his gums at the left hand side on the photos. I'm not sure what it is as its a funny place for a first tooth. My daughter didn't get those particular teeth until she was around two years old.

Does it look like a tooth on the photos? It feels like a tiny bump but not scratchy like I would expect a tooth to be, unless it's not far through enough yet. I've only noticed it today.

DS had a couple of little white bumps like that, they were something pearls (I can't remember the "something" though, sorry!), the HV said they are common and harmless and can mean teeth are going to come soon.

I think they are called epstein pearls and from what I know they are harmless.
