Lately my son has been fighting me when I try to feed him. He still eats well before bed and through the night and first thing in the morning. But during the day it's a nightmare! Everytime I try to put him to the breast he arches his back and pulls away and yells! Sometimes I'm able to give him a good feed if I take him up to our bed and lay down to feed him. But even then he tends to roll away and fight it a bit. Going out of the house is a nightmare.

Maybe this is just a time in his life when he doesn't need a lot to eat. Maybe im overreacting. Maybe the world is too interesting a place for a 5 month old. He doesn't seem any worse for wear for it.

Does this seem like a nursing strike? Or maybe something else?

Yep! Bella went through the same thing, at the same age funnily enough! Hopefully it wont last very long (Bella's lasted 2/3 weeks!) but some things you can do to help is to have lots of skin to skin contact (try having a bath together or just feeding while your both naked) also try being in a quiet room just you two and be patient, i always found that if i sat there in a feeding position and just held her while she arched and struggled, after a couple of minutes she would self latch and have a bit of a feed. Try and see if any of this helps, and just keep offering the breast, and if nothing works, pray that it doesn't last long! Lol :hugs: xx

Leo has done similar things in the past. Infact he is a bit like it at the moment.

I do the same as bloodbinds and hold him in the nursing position and sooth him by talking and patting him and quite often he will latch on himself

Yup sounds like a nursing strike. Abigail did the same thing and at one point would only eat when asleep, or close to sleep. She still has about 50% of her feeds around sleep times and has the odd day where she doesn't eat much boobie at all as life is too interesting.
