Hi all,

I was wondering if you guys could help. I am using OPKs this month
(11 month TTC) after swearing them off last year as i never got positives (conceived but miscarried in Feb so know that I do ovulate - phew!)

Anyway I am on CD16 of a 32 day cycle and got this OPK test result this morning. This is by far the closest I've ever gotten to a positive, but as it isn't as dark as the control I dont know it it actually is a positive?

We BD this morning and two days ago and intend to every day for the next few days. Thanks for any thoughts :flower:

Hi hun, the 2nd line should be as dark as or darker than the other line. Having said that, it might be worth trying some different OPK's as it might just be the ones you're using aren't sensitive enough for you.

Hi Mel, thanks for your reply. I'll keep testing and hopefully it'll get darker. If not I'll use your suggestion of a different brand next month :)

I usually test twice a day through O or I miss my +.

I never get the 2nd line as dark but quite close. It looks like its near though. xxx

Thanks guys!

Lillylove, I hadn't thought of testing again today as I only ever test in the afternoon, as thats supposed to be the best time. I took your advice and tested again just now - and waddaya know, its darker!

So the question now is - we BD this morning. Do we BD again tonight or wait until tomorrow morning? Thanks so much for helping me with this!:flower:

NICE! LOOKS GOOD! :happydance:

So I haven't tried this yet (trying for 3 months) but here is the SMEP (Sperm Meets Egg Plan) a lot of ladies use and swear by.

Here is the "Sperm Meets Egg Plan" crash course:

1. Buy 10 OPK tests PRIOR to cycle day 10
2. Starting on cycle day 10, do one OPK test EVERY DAY
3. Babydance (BD) EVERY OTHER DAY starting on cycle day 10 (hips elevated for 10-30 minutes after each BD session)
4. When you get a +OPK, :sex:that day and the next 2 days in a row (so 3 days in a row total)
5. Skip one night and babydance once more the next day
6. Take a home pregnancy test (HPT) 15 days after the day you ovulated (or most of you will start taking your HPTs at 10-12dpo!)"

I will be trying this next month. I would do it again tonight if he is up for it

I am in the TWW now. hoping to get :bfp: on July 6!

Actually they say morning swimmers are the best so maybe wait until the morning. You have 12-36 hours before you ovulate now:)

Thanks Lillylove - thats really helpful, thats what I'll do

Hard to believe that its my first positive OPK after almost a year of trying to conceive! It's actually quite funny how excited I am by it!

Oh how my saturday nights have changed...

Ha Ha! I hear you girl! It's all fun and games until you are ttc! Well then it is still fun and games but a lot more work! Baby dust for all!
:dust:

Have you been testing every day up until this? If so this is the start of your positive  !
You'll probably get your positive soon (ie. The test line will be as dark or darker than the control line) Get bd'ing now, you don't want to miss it! Do it for the next 3 days.
BTW - people think FMU is best for opk - this is not true (only for hpt) - in fact a test between 10am & 8pm is better providing you don't drink too much.

Where in NI around you from?
:flower:

Hi Majella!

I have been testing every day since cd 6! I got a definite positive last night - 3rd opk I did yesterday! So I'm happy. So nice to know for sure for a change.

You are the first other person I've seen here from NI! I'm from Newtownabbey - what about you? I'm enjoying this lovely weather we are getting this weekend :)

Acaseofyou - you just inspired me to do another test and the line is darker! Not quite the same as the control line but almost!

I totally agree with what a relief it is to see our bodies doing what they should!

FX'd for you and your :bfp:!!!
