Is this a show? TMI and don't read if eating!

ok, so I don't normally write in too much detail about personal stuff on here but just wondered about those of you who have experienced a show. For the last 2 days I have lost a small amount (prob about fingernail size) clump of (really really sorry about this) thick snot-like discharge. No blood in it or anything. After the midwife not even being able to get to my cervix with it being too far back on Monday I am hopeful that something is happening. Am I getting my hopes up for nothing?? Has anyone experienced this and is it a sign labour might be coming soon? Sorry again for the gross description!

Heya,

I had this happen to me just over a week ago and the midwife told me it was the show. It's like a thick jelly stuff but I didn't have any blood either. She told me it's a sign your body is preparing for labour but it doesn't mean it's going to happen in the next week or something like that I'm afraid.

Thanks, was hoping it might be a sign but probably best not to get my hopes up. Really don't want to be induced

My show happened with cramps the same day I had my son, it was streaked with blood too. How you've described it (snot like lol) sounds like thd show to me.

I've had a few pea sized bits of mucous come out from about 31 weeks. I always thought it would be a massive clump if it was the show but I'm a first timer so don't really know.
