I'm 13 days post c/s and for a few days now, there's a firm bump that runs along the top part of scar. It doesn't hurt or anything. In fact, I've lost feeling in some areas around my scar, which is normal. But I just don't know what it could be? Is it part of the healing process? Speaking of healing, I'm itching like madness. Grr!

Also...I had stitches and steri-strips taped over the cut. You think I can tear them off now? I forgot whether my OB said to take it off or not. And when, I forgot.

Thanks ladies. Maybe I'll post a pic tomorrow. That might help you regarding the bump.

It could be part of the healing or keloid (scar tissue) . I removed my strips on day 7 so yes you can take those off and then give the scar a gentle but good rinse. Itchiness is part of the healing process just try not to scratch x

It's more like a swollen long bump. That's where it itches most than other areas. I try not to scratch it!

I also read to massage the incision area and around it to aid in healing process.

Is the bump discolored at all? My second incision did that, and I ended up having an infection just under the skin. However my bump was noticeably darker than the rest of the scar tissue Even now, the area of skin where the infection was is still darker, and my little guy just turned a year last month.

No it's the same color as my skin. It's just raised bump and firm. It's gotten a bit better since making this post so maybe it's swelling around the incision?? Idk....

I had the same thing, its probably scar tissue and is normal.

I had the same thing, just scar tissue I think.

My doctor took out the staples at 4 days PP, and put on the steri strips. I think she said if they hadn't fallen off in 10 days (or was it a week?) I could take them off. I wish I could remember the specifics, but you could always ring your doctor and ask!

This is the right end of the scar. As you can see, there's a darker piece at the end point where he'd started the stitch. Is this sloppy job or is it normal healing? The rest of the scar is healing well. It's just this end piece. It's hard so I put it down to the starting point of the stitch or maybe even the end where he tied it? If that's what he did.

Edit: I'm sorry its upside down! That's how it uploaded. Hope you can still see it.

It looks like the either the end of the stitch or the starting point. Glad your scar is healing well.
