Last year November 17, I gave premature birth to a beautiful baby boy called Jaime. He was 29 weeks and weighed 1.3kgs. Unfortunately, he died two days after birth because his lungs were not fully developed. Coming home with no baby bump to an empty baby room was hard, and I remember feeling like I wanted another child immediately. As time went by, however, I thought it was probably best to wait as I didn´t want it to seem like I was replacing my little Angel.

Yesterday I found out I´m six weeks pregnant. I still don´t understand how it happened. I remember that I only stopped bleeding shortly after Christmas on December 28. Although I was concerned at the time, my doctor reassured me that bleeding for up to six week was normal. Since I stopped bleeding, I´ve been waiting for my menstruation cycle so that I can start some form of birth control until I felt ready for another baby.

And yet here I am, pregnant. The only explanation is that my period started immediately after I stopped bleeding, making it impossible for me to detect it as there was no interval. Has this happened to anyone else?

I´m scared, ecstatic and confused all at once.

I'm so sorry for your loss :hugs:. It hasn't happened to me as I did stop bleeding before bleeding again (it took me one cycle to fall pregnant again) but I do know people it's happened to and there's no reason why you can't have a perfectly normal pregnancy this time! Congratulations :)

Congratulations! you must have so many conflicting feelings right now! I hope that soon you will be able to relax and enjoy your pregnancy. What a wonderful gift from your little angel :hugs:

I'm so sorry for your loss of Jamie, but thrilled for you. I got pregnant in December straight after an early miscarriage without any signs of ovulation and no af, so it can happen. I wish you so much luck this time.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
I think it's perfectly possible, when I lost my baby, I was told to use contraception because you can get pregnant immediately after. Then I had an early miscarriage in December and am now pregnant again without having had af inbetween.

Congratulations! I'm only a couple of weeks ahead of you and I know how scary it is!

there is a lovely lady called hayley on here, she is amazing. she lost her little boy who was born full term to SIDS at 12 days old and i believe she fell pregnant 1st cycle after giving birth.....or maybe 2nd cycle but quite quick bless her....
and she gave birth to a healthy baby girl last week....
it does happen :) maybe this is ur lil miracle from ur special angel :)
