Is this really bad?

I was at a nursery party this afternoon and one of the mothers I was talking to said how its gross that I'm still breast-feeding Jasmine, she said up to 6months is fine but after 6months is discusting , shes not the only one who felt that and since I haven't been comfortable breast-feeding at all. I didn't think i'd still be breast-feeding at 10months but I don't see why I have to stop when we are comfortable with it, although she is combined-fed should I stop completely?

If you don't want to stop then don't. My mum thinks that I should be starting to wean Kaya now, but I'm not going to as neither me nor Kaya are ready to. Loads of people feed past 12 months and many also tandem feed when they have a new baby. Be strong hun.

I intend to stop when my baby feels ready. if that is 6 months then so be it if it 16 months then thats fine by me. I think 24 months will be my limit

Some people BF for years. You have to do whats right for you and baby. Sod all of them - do what makes you happy.
And is your sister in-law a specialist in BF? If not, what is her reasoning for stopping now?

Everyone's replies so far have been pretty polite. I'd tell her to go boil her head. Next time you see her (or anyone who tells you that you or your baby are 'disgusting') say 'If I'd have wanted any shit outta you, I'd have squeezed your head'.

how dare they! rita you bf and be very proud of yourself. its your decision and well done to all those's bf-ing mummy's out there, its not easy imo. i had to bottle feed after 3days of no milk for my princess and i think its wonderful. for gods sake, its feeding your baby, however we do it, its wonderful and i love seeing both bottle and breast feeding pic's posts x x x x
