Anyone else getting this??

It's constant, unless I shower, after I shower I get about an hour where nothing itches for a while.

It's driving me mad. And of course nwo I'm thinking about it it's making it worse, myy thighs and my prev section scar are the worst but not only affected areas.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh

I do if I leave it too long between using a moisturiser or oil. I'm using baby oil in the shower for my bump, and then moisturiser otherwise - itching is often what happens when your skin is stretching

theres a sticky somewhere too about obstetric cholestasis.. i dont know if you may be a bit early or not but have a read.. i had it on my first and it literally drove me mental, constant itching. i genuinely thought that i was going to rip my skin off coz i was stratching so much.. hope it eases for you soon tho xx

I had really bad itching a few weeks ago, it got so bad that I went to the drop in midwife because I was worried. A few days later, the itching stopped. The midwife said its the extra blood flow running through the body.

I itched from 11-18 weeks. On my boobs it was so bad, my nails weren't sharp enough so I'd (embarrassingly) get a comb, my nails weren't sharp enough and I was ending up pinching to get rid of the itchy pain and wound up with bruises everywhere.

No more than 3 minutes after getting out of the shower put cream all over and then seal it in with a light oil like coconut oil. You can buy something like bio oil but I find it's expensive and my DH is a chemist - said it's as simple as sealing the moisture into your skin by putting an oil over top the hydrating lotion. Doesn't need to be expensive or fancy. Make sure you're getting enough water too. If it doesn't go away, check with your MW.

Gosh yes I feel ya! I've had a couple of episodes of extreme itching lasting weeks at a time. Oilatum helps the dryness xx

Yes I do! I have constant itching around my back, tummy and breast and to make it worse every night I get hives! I use sorbelene cream and that seems to help it a little.

Yes it's driving me nuts! My legs arms back neck...everywhere!! Can't sleep at night because of it x

You should definitely have your doctor give you a check for cholestasis. It is most common in late pregnancy but it CAN occur earlier. As the other ladies said there are TONS of reasons for itching in pregnancy, most of them harmless and just super annoying. But cholestasis is life threatening to your baby. I have been itching too so my doctor checked me. All is well in my case, but I'm glad we looked into it. Better safe than sorry. It's definitely manageable so I would have felt horrible if I did have it and something happened to my baby just because I didn't mention it. Just my two cents. :)

It can and DOES occur sooner than the 3rd tri. I started itching around 17 weeks. I would get checked out for sure.

I invested in the Burts bees mama belly lotion and it really seems to help almost all day. I get super itchy at night though but it's due to all the stretching.

Thanks for all your advice ladies (sorry for taking so long to come back and reply...busy week!)

I tried some simple moisturising cream and that seems to help a lot. I've never been big into doing stuff like that daily. I know weird right. I'll keep any eye on it if it continues though as I was getting to the point of wanting to pull my skin off
