its a bottomless pit..

a hour after my 9 week old has finished her feed, she wants another, sometimes she will go to a hour and a half, but its rare. I was told because shes having 5oz, shes feeding too often, but when i try and get her to go atleast 2 hours, she will just scream, there is no way to get her to wait longer.

at night, usually she will fall asleep around 7/8, and wake around 11. have her bottle sleep until 2-3, and be awake again at 4-5. on the odd occasion she will go from 10-11, until around 3 but it is very very rare.

i just dont know whats normal

Hi there,

I don't formula feed, but breastfeed, and it seems like my baby feeds endlessly. I sit at my computer and she is attached to my nipple for several hours. I have no idea how much she is getting when she breastfeeds. Sometimes I pump so that DH can feed her. She will take 2oz and often will not be satisfied, so we have to keep heating up more until it's all out and she goes back to the breast. I wonder if maybe she just likes sucking. She won't take a pacifier though.

I too thought she was comfort sucking, but she doesn't want her dummy when she's hungry x

Perhaps she's going through a growth spurt. I don't think you have many options with a hungry baby other than to feed her! Just keep doing what you're doing. If she's hungry, she's hungry.

This makes me laugh. My son is the same. In the evenings I swear there's a hole in the floor that the milk drains into. However when we try and feed him at times he really should be hungry, like before bed, to ensure he sleeps well, he won't drink a drop! I think babies just like to eat.. It's probably their one real pleasure in life I guess! Frustrating though in terms of washing up/time lol.

My son was like this for the first 12 weeks of life, I swear if I had an endless bottle of formula he would have drank all day. Now hes 23 weeks old, wont eat more then 4 oz at a time because hes too interested in other stuff
