itunes/iphone problems

I have an iPhone 3gs and since updating it with the ios5 software, I've had problems with the music.
Whenever I play music on my phone, it either doesn't play at all, or it skips a few songs and then decides which one to play. And lately it's started playing something but with the wrong artwork and artist info.
I've tried plugging it back into iTunes and syncing it, but had no luck.

What the hell do I do?!

Have you done another sync? Sometimes errors occur in the sync and causes it to fail. I've had this so many time.
I had a 3G and when I did the last software update that came up for it my phone used to turn the volume up on my docking station just by plugging it in. It went really loud and then quiet then really loud again.. I synced it again and it was ok.
Apple have had lots of dramas with the new update.
