Anyone else have this? I had my IUD removed after only 7ish weeks because I had such severe pain in my upper right quadrant that I couldn’t function. Ultrasounds and CT scans revealed nothing (except a kinked urterer and perhaps enlarged kidney but the specialist said my kidney function is great, everything is draining perfectly and I could have born with this and it is not an issue) but the pain is not in my kidney area anyway. I feel like I did when I was pregnant and for a bit after when my gallbladder got inflamed. I asked the specialist who put the IUD in (to see if it would help with some pelvic pain/possible endometriosis) if the pain could be caused by hormones released by IUD. He said very unlikely and I should give it a chance. Went to my family doctor and restated my case, and he said absolutely it could be causing my pain. There’s a condition where IUDs can cause irritation in the liver and gallbladder. I had it removed then and there, yesterday. Also been feeling super depressed and hopeless since about a week or two after the IUD. The last two weeks I’ve been a total mess, mentally.
But I know these mental health issues are common with IUDs. What isn’t mentioned so much are the gallbladder issues.
So, was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if so, if it resolved itself after IUD removal? I feel a bit better already but that could be just a mental relief that helps me not focus on the discomfort.
