IUI, painful?

Not really. Maybe a little bit of cramping, but nothing that isn't bearable.

I had my first IUI today and only discomfort when they inserted the cathedar. Beyond that it is like a regular pap smear but less invasive as they aren't "scraping" the insides of your cervix.

Definitely nothing to be worried about or nervous to have done.

Is IUI uncomfortable as I may need to have IUI

Uncomfortable. I was advised to try to have a reasonably full bladder as it helds with the position of the cervics. I had 3 goes and would say the ones where my bladder was fullest were less uncomfortable. Number 3 was lucky for me and I now have a gorgeous LO. Best of luck to you.

I had no discomfort at all, apart from having to have a full bladder!!! Was just like a smear test, without the cevix scraping. So actually better than a smear! And only took about 5 minutes.

I agree, its better than a pap. Also, I got slight spotting that went away later after both IUIs.
