Well this might sound stupid by the end of this..........
Before christmas Tabs was doing really well and was on 5-6oz every feed.
She was on Cow and Gate comfort 1 or first as it is now called so over christmas at her 6mth mark i changed her to cow and gate comfort follow on and didnt think anything of it.
Now thinking back from this point she turned into a demon! grumbling all day and waking up every half hour sometimes at night time. Having major strops and doing a LOT or lucrhing/arching backwards and when i gave her a bottle or tried to it took half an hour or longer to get 3-4 oz down her and the last few weeks has only been doing about 16-18oz a day!! not for the want of trying.
Because her comfort 1/first feed was thicker she has been on the dr browns level 3 teats since around 4 weeks old when she was breast and bottle top ups.
I didnt think there would be much difference in the follow on milk so really didnt give it a thought!
So anyway i saw a dr browns trainer cup thingy the other day on a website and they also had dr browns level 4 teats!!! i didnt even know these existed and they also have some Y cut ones! so i got a 2 pack of each and they arrived yesterday.......boiled them etc and gave them a go.....over the sink the milk was coming out in a constant stream on the level 4 so i sat Tabs up a bit so she wouldnt choke and low and behold!!!!!!!!!! She drank 6oz in about 100 seconds!!
every bottle since she has also had 6oz!! in about 100 seconds apart from her night time milk,i put that in a Y shaped one but she only did 3oz so may try the level 4 tonight.
She seems much happier in herself and i am going to try 7oz today and see what happens!

All the lurching and arching lately i thought was down to her reflux and tummy discomfort but it must have been her getting soooooooooooo pissed off and obviously grumpy because she was hungry but she couldnt get much out!
Now i feel bad that i didnt think of this before.

Anyway ill keep you all posted and im just wondering if anyone else has had this trouble since going onto follow on?
i know the comfort ones are thicker for the reflux etc but FFS she'll need a loo roll to suck it through soon enough!

Sounds interesting. I'm struggling to get enough milk into my 4 and a half month old. The formula tin says she should be on 7oz now but she has 3 or 4 oz then just isn't interested. She's slightly above average weight and everyone who sees her says shes 'bonny' - polite for a big one!!!! I'm worried that she's not taking enough in. She's also still waking at 3ish for a night feed of 3 oz but isn't hungry when she wakes at 6.15. What age are the level 3 teats from? Do you think it's too soon to try her on them???

Tabs was on level 3 from very early on because her milk is thicker. She is also a BIG baby and i was worried about her not taking much down.you could always try her just sit her up a little bit and see how she gets on,worth a go and might feed her up more during the day so she doesnt need a night feed?
