Ok so I have a question. Not got my BFP yet just wondered when you have treatment and it works how do you know when your due date is? Norm is last period but is it the same when you do treatment?

Also with twins do they base your due date on 34 weeks or predict full term and then usually they come early?

Is anyone more worried during their pregnancy about the risks with twins? I've read some articles and they really put the fright in you but lots of people I know have had twins just fine!

Still thinking about the decision of 1 or two embryos! lol! Having twins would be such a blessing :)

Hi

They count EC day as OV day so you count back 14 days for the first day of your cycle. Twins will be given a 40 wk due date but you would be booked in for induction before then.

We had 2 put back, both grade a 4 cell and only one took. The clinics will try to make you got for SET but it is your decision. They just want to keep their multiples rates down. I know everyone has different opinions but I would have 2 put back next time without hesitation. For me, I couldn't live with the what ifs of SET.

Good luck

xx

Thanks Mrs G that's really useful to know!

We are leaning towards 2 being put back in. I read a website which really put me off but I still think it increases your chances so its worth it.

Found this website looking for the same answer!! ifv.ca - you can calculate due date and development based on egg collection date.

Yeah, we felt our chances were (slightly) increased with 2 and if you're open to the idea of twins and aware of the risks I'd say go for it.

xx

I'm probably the wrong person to ask about twins, as its something I feel quite strongly about. I am a midwife so have seen first hand how devastating things are when things go wrong, and things go wrong more often with twins. All I would say is think very hard before making the decision, and be well informed of the risks of multiple pregnany and birth. Twin pregnancies are high risk.

I am opting for SET :flower:

As far as calculting dates, twin pregnancies are calculated the same as for singletons. The aim is always to get them to near term, but most are born prematurely.

Each embryo always has its own % chance, and you don't increase that chance by putting 2 back, but obviously you up your chances slightly. For us, we would rather have more cycles, and spend more £ to have a single pregnancy (hopefully), than have 2 out back and risk twins. But I know everyone is different and I don't think there is anything wrong with having 2 put back as long as you know the risks

Thanks caline,

Wow it's so hard to decide :( I know the risks but am scared too if that makes sense. I keep thinking I could be the one that does OK during the pregnancy etc with twins but then odds are maybe I won't be!

found this site just put in ec date and they work it out https://www.ivf.ca/duedate.php

I really admire twins, and i pray to have them someday. we will put back 2,and if i dont get my twins, my chances of 1 emby making it is higher.xxx
