I have a craving for some cockles in vinegar (the jarred variety)

My OH is always stressing over what I eat as he wants to ensure that me and Baby B are ok. I know he cares but I really want some.

Can anyone tell me if they are safe to eat? I love sea food such as prawns and muscles etc but not had muscles in ages and only recently had some prawns. I know they tell you to be careful with seafood though OH has read that I shouldn't eat it at all!!

I don't know hun but OMG I want some cockles now!!! Lol

I've wanted them for weeks!! Sorry for starting you off lol

Urgh!! yuck! However, I believe they are fine because they are cooked.

I'd eat them, there's no problem with seafood as long as it's not off! Xx

ive had the odd jar :) as long as its not the fresh raw type your fine.. everything in moderation xx

I found this..
Absolutely. Shellfish is safe to eat while pregnant as long as it's well cooked, according to the UK Food Standards Agency. Shellfish is an important and healthy protein, high in omega 3 fatty acids which are important for the development of your baby's brain, eyes and nervous system, as well as other nutrients and low in saturated fat.* There is no need for pregnant women to miss out on shellfish, as long as they take care it is thoroughly cooked. *Good ideas for healthy recipes include crabcakes or a quick prawn stirfry.

You can eat cockles in pregnancy if they are cooked.. This includes picked and from a sea food stall just check with the person serving they have been cooked propley x I have always eaten sea food it's good for you even in pregnancy..
