Jessica arrived 4 days early on the 03/01/09. Contractions started at about 4am on the saturday morning, by 9am the contractions were coming every 3 and a half minutes so we set off up to the hospital. I was examined and was 6cm dilated so was taken straight to the delivery suite.
Was given gas and air and omg it was amazing. i loved it haha but wanted something stronger after a few more hours.
at about half 11 i was still only 7cm and i felt like i couldn't cope with the pain anymore so i was begging for a epidural. the midwife kept telling me i couldn't have one for a hour (i was calling her all the names under the sun by this time haha) eventually got my epidural at about 2pm and was still 7cm. it was amazing not to be in pain anymore.
the hospital was sooo busy they ended up closing the delivery suite !! lucky i went early enough.
at about 4pm i was fully dialted but her she hadn't turned so they wanted to leave me another hour to see if she turned on her own, luckily she did and she was born into the world at 6pm. it only took about 20mintues to push her out and it was amazing to see my little girl.
the midwife had a few concerns with her breathing and she went very white but after a little skin to skin she was fine. i got a 2nd degree tear which is still quiet painful but it was worth every single second. she is my little angel.
