We have that pressure here too. Although people in the US aren't having as many kids as they used to. I think the average used to be around 5 in the 70's, now it's down to 1-2.Yep but it takes 2 years before my uterus can handle another pregnancy and any contractions I might get if e.g. I go into labour before the planned c-section.
So true although I'm sure lots of people will be pushing for us to have a 2nd baby People here tend to have at least 2 children because they think only children are lonely so it's better to have a playmate or two in the form of a sibling or two. Also some feel only children grow up to be selfish and entitled but I've seen plenty of children with a sibling that are like that so think how you raise them is the most important factor. I'm definitely only going to have another if I want another, not because I want to create a playmate for my current child as I'm sure he'll make plenty of friends which can sometimes be better than a sibling.
What's your sons name? I have tons of baby names already picked out for when we get there!
Yeah here it's more like 2-3, my DH is actually the 2nd born of 3 children. I actually remember this woman I knew who, not knowing I was iffy on having 2 kids but definitely wanted 1, say that people who only had 1 child were selfish people because 1) only children don't have anyone to share childhood memories with (my DH scoffed at that one, saying him and his brothers rarely do that) and 2) only children have the full burden when the parents die.
We ended up going with Alexander We had 2-3 choices and wanted to wait until he was born before choosing one. We were actually team all the way so we had 2-3 choices for both genders. But it took a while to decide so think it was first after 5-6 days we decided. In the meantime he was referred to as "little guy" which we still use even though he isn't as little anymore
