im looking to get something fun for my little one, hes 18 weeks now, a big baby at 18.14 last time weighed...i have been looking at jumparoos but they are really expensive, and also door bouncers i am worried lo will bump himself on the door frame etc....also because he is quite big i am thinking he will not get as much use so might be a waste of money, e.g he will grow out of it too quick.....can anyone recommend something fun for my LO. Does anyone have the jumparoo and would you say its good value for money?,xxx

jumperoo! ive been told that door bouncers are dangerous and lo can get serious injuries if they suddenly topple over or hit themselves.
At least with the jumperoo you ca leave them safe in a corner to entertain themselves and is more advantageous to their development with all the activities/music/lights :D

I have the zoo jumperoo and even though my lo is still too young/short for his jumperoo, he is still happy just sitting in it taking in all that is happening lol...well until he gets bored

Jumperoo all the way! I got a door bouncer and charlie used it once! I didnt like it and she was so close to the doorframes.

We got a second hand jumperoo and its a godsend! She is still using it now and is a tall baby. She is occupied with the toys around it and loves jumping.
I didnt want to buy one new because of the price and i wasnt sure she would like it as she didnt really take to the door bouncer.....

the jumperoo isnt going anywhere, it will be moved to loft when she is finished with it for the next baby!

definatly jumperoo, i bought one for my little girl when she was 18 weeks, and she liked it but now she is 7 months she LOVES it!! you can buy some fantastic conidtion ones on ebay or in the selling section on here.

We dont have very wide doors so a door bouncer was out of the question for us. THe jumperoo really is great and entertains her for ages, it also knackers her out!!

Jumperooooooo!! It's our best investment bar the high chair. It's the only thing he'll sit in without whinging !!!
The door bouncer was a waste of money, he's wasn't Interested in that at all!

Jumperoo is amazing.. one of the best things I've bought(sold it now though) I highly recommend it. Buy a second hand one if u don't/can't afford a new 1 x

I have both? But havent used them yet, I got the jumperoo after the door bouncer so i kind of feel like the door bouncer is a bit of a waste :/x

Any opinions on a cheaper version, like the Bright Starts Bounce Bounce Baby? It's a *lot* cheaper than the jumperoo - any one got one?

We got our jumperoo second hand. So great! :) Check Gumtree. There are usually a handful of people selling on there

Jumperoo!!! My nephew LOVED his! And I'm buying my little Evie one for Xmas she will be about 13weeks then so hopefully be able to use it :) I just think they are much safer than a door bouncer! My son banged his head really bad in a door bouncer so I would never use one again! Xx

It's funny because I had a door bouncer when I was little with the big exposed spring at the top :haha:

I got my jumperoo for £30 of our local buy and sell fb page. LO likes just sitting and looking at the lights etc at the mo. Def have a look round and see if you can find one second hand.

Jumperoo! without a doubt... soooooooo worth the money imo. We bought a door bouncer and she's been in it once, it's just sitting in the cupboard now :dohh:

Thanks for answering everyone i have just bought a Jumparoo....whoop whoop!!! hope LO gets plenty of use out of it, hes over 19lbs already and only 19 weeks old.xxx

Mine is 20lbs and coming up for 17 weeks, lol. He's still on the first setting :)

Congrats , he'll love it!!

I'll give you a negative to keep in mind though... Watch out for jumperoo poo!!
Acts as some kind of laxative with my LO and if you don't have your nose on straight away it's right up thier backs before you know it... And the sides!!

The jumperoo is the most amazing thing in the world EVER!

We got ours on offer for £69.99 from argos but I would pay double the full price!

Unfortunately I've sold ours now because Fran lost interest in it once she got on the move, but if we have another baby I won't hesitate to buy another one!

You can usually get near new ones on ebay for about half the price xx

Edit - must read the whole thread before replying :haha:

My LO is only 8 weeks but I'm already thinking about this same thing because he always wants to be 'standing'!!!! He doesn't want to sit or lie, but be on his feet upright all the time!!!! Soooo, I've seen that door bouncers can be used from 3 months which is great - not too long 'til he'd be able to use it... but what age can you use jumperoos from? Most guidelines I've found say from 6 months, but from what I've seen lots of people seem to use them from a younger age... What do you think? What is a suitable age to use jumperoos from? If it is 6 months-ish I think I may get a door bouncer to use until he can use a jumperoo - constantly holding him in a 'standing' position is very tiring!!! Especially as I'm wary of letting him put too much weight on his feet this early!!!

You can use the jumperoo as soon as they can hold their own head. Fran was in hers at 11wks - but had been holding it a while before that x

Jumperrrooo!!
Bailey loves it more then his door bouncer.
xx
