My LO is almost 10 weeks and has been putting her weight down on her legs almost since she was born. I think its time to get her a jumper and have heard great things about the fisher price jumperoo. Has anyone used this with their LO? What age did you start and how did they like it? What other toys did your kids like to play with around 2 months?

Jumperoo's are good but I wouldn't put a 2 month old in one tbh. 3.5-4 months at the earliest I would say. At that age my dd liked watching light shows on mobiles.

I had a jumperoo and dd liked it somewhat. She was older tho as they need good head control first.

I wouldn't put a baby in one until minimum of 4 months no matter how strong you think Lo legs are, the bones and muscles in the back and neck still aren't. Perhaps some play gyms that light up and okay music? We used to have one that they had to kick with their feet so set it off.

My daughters loved the fisher price raonforest playmat, it had lights and played music/nature sounds.
I definitely wouldnt put a 2 month old in a jumperoo. It is one thing being able to bear weight on legs (my youngest two could at 2 months) but their little backs and necks would not cope very well!
I did buy a second hand jumperoo when my dd3 was 6 months but she was never interested and only lasted a few minutes each time before getting annoyed and wanting out. I have hear so many people ahos babies LOVE them though! About 4+ months is a good time :)

Some bright board books to look at, simple baby rattles, balls, to show baby? Lots of singing and dancing together. They just love looking at you at that age. So sweet <3

I agree with the above who said it's a bit early at two months. I got my DD her jumperoo at 3.5 months and she's a tall baby but still she needed a pillow in with her to keep her steady. Now at 4.5 months she fits nicely and enjoys it a lot!

Thanks for all the feedback! Ive read on other boards that some moms use it with their 2month babies and just add a little extra back support but I guess I'll be holding off for another month. She's also has had really great head control from early on as well but it sounds like its better to wait.

She has the rainforest mat and loves the lights and hanging toys. She also loves playing in the mirror with me but isn't interested in the books yet (maybe ill try to find some with lights).

Thanks again ladies!

I think it was about 4 or 5 months (looking back at my pictures on my phone :haha:) when we tried out the jumparoo with our DD, i ended up getting it secondhand as when i did my registry i didnt think we would use one and they were so expensive! it turned out that she LOVED it until she was mobile, and now its "no no no, i dont want to be on one place! let me go!!" but she would get excited at the toys and get the thing rocking back and forth with her jumping in it...and of course, figuring out how to remove the toys from the links, throwing them on the floor and fussing until we picked them up to give back

I have a Jumperoo from when DS was little but I haven't got it out yet. My DD has also had good head control since birth but when they are teeny it's better for their development for them to be on the floor and it's not really supportive enough. I'll probably wait until 5 months to get it out., I hope DD loves it as much as DS does.

Violet could support her weight at birth but didn't use a doorway jumper until about 5 months. I thought she'd like it sooner, but she didn't. They're not designed for a baby that young, so it doesn't work well. As for other toys, she wasn't interested at that age, nor was my son.
