Just a bit of sunday fun....

Will be cool to see all of us 'reunite' in third trimester. arj will be getting ready to have her boys by the time you get there.

*sigh* so long to go...

Well Miss small bump, a lady probably not unlike yourself (size wise, not attitude wise, you're actually a nice person) pretty much made me cry today by telling me how huge I was and hoisting up her shirt to reveal a tight, small bump. I suppose bump envy goes two ways - now I don't want to be this big. The most frustrating part is, I'm not actually very big. I've gained 2kg overall and my bump hasn't out-protruded my breasts.
Grass is always frikkin greener :(

What a :mamafy:... She, of all people, should know how sensitive we are when it comes to our bumps.

I know eh? On that note, how goes your gorgeous, perfectly sized ninja girl?

She was practicing like crazy on Friday and yesterday. She even kicked my DF in the cheek when he put his head on my belly. :haha: Mind you, there have been quite a few quiet days during the last two weeks or so.
What about your precious LO? Love the name Kaida by the way.

Thanks!!!! :) it means little dragon Hehe

Yeh she's good. Like yours very violent some days but lots of more quiet days. You're around the big growth spurt stage right about now I'm pretty sure. Lots of sleeping and growing for her. Are you getting a 30 week growth scan?

Our next scan will be on Saturday. LO's head measured a week behind during our last scan three weeks ago (yes, I googled this the second I got home...), so my doctor wants to monitor her growth. Fingers crossed she will be on track next week.

Will you pronounce the name Ka-da or Keye-da?

Pronounced Kay-Da :D

My bubby's head is also a week behind. Everything else is on time or in advance except her head. Her cerebellum (brain) was perfectly fine though. I'm just happy it's going to be easier to squeeze out ;)
Hope she's caught up and she doesn't try to scare Mummy anymore!

Ugh, a friend just recommended a Thai place for us to eat at - it was dodgy and now I'm worried that I'll be super sick tonight. *sigh* only time will tell :(

Tell me about dodgy Thai food... Sounds like this was your first and last visit to this place... I'm sure you'll be fine.

Yay!!!! Oh god they're dropping like flies, who's next? Claire?

And on that note - you CAN'T LEAVE ME SAPH. I'll die if I'm left in 2nd tri without you. You're some sanity mixed with complete and utter insanity and paranoia - exactly what I need. Don't abandon me. I can't live!!

Don't you worry, Girl. I shall keep maintaining the level of paranoia and dropping the occasional well-thought-through comment both in second trimester and in this thread.

Today's main paranoid thoughts include an umbilical cord accident and her kicking so hard she'll break her membranes. Lol. FML

Being a med student is probably more a curse than it is a blessing when preggers... You may not even have to google things in order to get the paranoia going. I keep thinking/freaking about impaired growth on her head, or any body parts for that matter. Meh.

Yeh a huge curse. However Google doesn't exactly help my cause lol. I still manage to come across things I wouldn't have otherwise thought of. The other issue is the access to resources. They don't sweeten anything - just the raw hard facts of "x amount of babies die per year of..." but on a positive note they don't have scare tactics and I find many statistics reassuring.
Your beautiful bean is going to be perfect. They'll keep a keen eye on both of you which is excellent. Remind me again, her head was small, yes but the cerebellum was fine? Scans are always +/- a week and can be even more with a shit sonnographer lol. I had one lady that I can't even describe! All measurements were out and she completely missed an anomaly with my placenta.

Yes, like in your case, he kept checking her brain and said that it looked fine which is somewhat reassuring. But still...
How could she miss the issue with your placenta?? How long after her missing this was is pointed out to you?
Also, sometimes I feel like they keep checking certain things over and over again, but don't check for other things properly. For example, my doctor would confirm two arms/hands/legs/feet during two consecutive scans (you'd think they write this in their notes the first time!) but never really checked for SUA (at least not that I know of).

A matter of days later when I wanted a second opinion and got rescanned, they found the extra lobe (at a different radiology place).
If they dopplered the umbilical cord, then they looked for SUA. If they didn't then I'm stumped
My baby hates my doppler. If I want to wake her up, that's what I use and she goes crazy lol. Must be true that they can hear the waves though skin/muscle/fat/fluid...
