... Nappy sacks!!!
They are very handy to have near where you change your baby and in changing bag also pop a few in hospital bag I've just ordered 400 as OH reminded me they were a god send with DD as they really do stink!!! Lol

I have one pack of 150 of these and they smell so nice I dont want to have to use them as they make the nursery smell so nice :D I am going to buy some more. They are only the cheap sainsburys scented ones but they are really lovely!!!

xx

Can't you just put the dirty nappies in the hospital bin?

I really hate the idea of using so many plastic bags, so bad for the environment.

Yeah just put them in the marked waste bin in the hospital. But I suppose they are handy if your out and not right by a bin xx

I've bought plenty of nappy sacks, I think they are a must if you're putting dirty nappies in your kitchen bin etc x

I have mine packed already :D just need to put in an extra pair of pyjamas and somes clothes for me to wear coming home!

I'd rather use a nappy bag. Nappys are not exactly good for the environment but there's not alot you can do about it with a newborn baby lol x

I've got a pack packed aswell! Baby poop stinks lol and when I had my son I couldn't get out of bed for 12hours so had to wait for a midwife to pop in to give her the dirty nappys so it was nice not to have to smell them lol and I use them for every nappy at home x

Are some nappy sacks biodegradable? I would go have a look at mine but it'll take me ten minutes to get up!!

how much are you ladies paying for them? i got a pack of 200 out of body care for 70p, how does this compare to sainsburys ect?

Yeah they are but much more expensive.
But Is there any point when nappys are not biodegradable anyway ?

cloth nappies exsist for this reason, i am using cloth from the start and do not want a disposable to touch my babies bottom, as they take 500 yrs to degrade, were as this bub can use cloth and the rest we have, then they can be sold on and re-used by a new family

cloth is not at all what it used to be, google itti bitti, totsbots they are so so pretty and good for the environment and your pocket

I heard that the cloth ones are just as bad for the environment! not sure how much truth in it but there are a few articles on them being same fir the environment as disposable.

I cant believe some people are saying that nappy bags are bad for the environment! What about the actual disposable nappies that go in them!?? Youve all really got me thinking about this now! :)
Myself - I liked to use nappy bags but if I can avoid doing so - like if Im at home anyway - I will be respectful of not using one etc. I also reuse the plastic bags that veg etc comes in as a nappy bag so I am trying!
Can anyone recommend a really good cloth nappy set - you really have all got me thinking about what Im doing this time. I promise I will consider it!!

xxx

Just to clarify what I meant - obviously disposable nappies are bad for the environment! Just then unnecessarily wrapping them in something that's also bad for the environment seems a bit like overkill to me.

I'm going to use reusable nappies once I'm in the swing of things. I don't know exactly how much energy it uses to wash them etc (I presume that's where the 'They're just as bad for the environment' thing comes from), but I think that's got to be better than filling up landfill and them not degrading for 500 years.

I've bought some compost-able bags to put in our nappy bucket/changing bag in the meantime.

Think I paid about 30p in Asda for a pack of 200 x

Maybe my kids and every other young baby I've met aren't normal.. but you certainly dont need nappy bags to mask any smell for a good few weeks, and certainly not for the first few days in hospital.. young baby poo just doesn't smell!

Now that LO is eating actual food, and her poo DOES smell, I just put nappies straight into the bin outside! Not that I'm worried about the nappy bags being bad for the environment, if that was the case, I wouldn't be using disposible nappies .. it's just extra cost and things to carry around that theres really no need for!

 Surely people can see the difference between using one thing that's bad for the environment and using two things?!

Why not just buy a packet of nappy bags and throw them straight in the bin to be done with it :laugh2:

I have got nappy bags mainly for when we are out and about but will take some to hopital just incase. When needed I will re-use shopping carrier bags aswell as these are what I use when I take the dog for a walk :D

xx
