Hello - this is my first thread on here and I was just wondering if anyone had any experiences to share. I was diagnosed with polyhydramnios (excess fluid) with deepest pocket of 11.9, at 33 weeks. On the same day my consultant (who I'm with due to previous pulmonary embolism so on daily clexane injections), did a TORCH screen and I'm still waiting on the results (now 34+2). I also found out that they hadn't done my TORCH screen correctly, hence the delay so am now on the verge of insanity while I wait. I'm first of all hoping anyone can share any previous experiences with me (I know that a lot of cases result in no diagnosis and I've already been screened for GD - with a neagtive result).

If anyone can share their experiences I'd be grateful as Google just isnt helping my sanity! I'd also be gratefulo to hear more about any birth stories - my midwife joked that it'll likely be a 'wellies job' but I'm also due to work until 38 weeks and now thinking that might be a bit stupid and that I should take more time to chill! I don't have my next scan/consultant appointment until 9th Nov and don't really want to wait that long to ask him questions. Thanks very much in advance :winkwink:

I had a scan last wed, my deepest pocket was just over 10, and had another one close to 10. I also have a bub who is measuring about 3.5wks larger than normal. Passed GD scan with flying colors. I'm having a lot of cramping on a daily bass, doc says its normal for the lots of fluid and big baby. I have a c-section scheduled for 12/10, but I am praying baby makes a debut before hand. I am so ready for this little guy to be out, he just needs to wait a few more weeks.

Thanks MommaDucky - I'm the same, I want the little one here and safe and sound but also want him to hang around in there at least another couple of weeks til I measure full term. It's the waiting around for blood test results that's driving me insane. Going to call again at 8.30am today and praying they just say everything's clear - if there's something up they won't say over the phone they'll make me an appointment. More waiting!!!! I hope your LO comes before your c-section date x

dipping my toe in here, nervous and wanting to find people in similar situation to wait it out with.

im measuring 3/4 weeks ahead by fundal height, and had a scan on 2/11 (30+3) and they said that i have too much fluid (but not given any measurements) and that they'll scan me again in 2 weeks - booked for 14/11(32+1).
no further info was given at the time, sonographer just said if levels still high next go around "drs start getting twitchy"

so i consulted dr google and now im worried about all sorts or problems with the baby,

had GTT bloods done at 28w and got the all clear.

I'm heading in for another scan on the 15th to monitor it. Baby looks fine. however the extra load has caused my body to be a little more stressed out. So my BP will spike quick or I'll get lightheaded easily. I've had to tone things down a lot. But baby is fine and healthy. Sometimes the fluid is just out of wack for an unknown reason. Don't google, I went nuts before my first scan with google.

i had polyhydramnios with my first pregnancy but they said it was because of my GD and extra sugar i had floating around. they measured the fluid and the deepest part was 7cms i remember the doctor said that it would just put pressure on m cervix because my tummy is so heavy! good luck!

scan is 2 days away... so nervous.

wondering what it means for birth plans.

Just come out from scan. everything's fine. Baby est weight is 4lb9. Waters are back within normal range
