My husband and I have been trying unsuccessfully to get pregnant for awhile now and in Jan I started having some really unusual bleeding- I bled most of the month.

I finally went in to talk to a Dr about my issues getting pregnant. She ordered a sonogram and what felt like a ton of blood work. Hopefully this is the start of being able to get pregnant =)

So far this is what was ordered for blood work:

COMPLETE CBC W/AUTO DIFF WBC
ASSAY THYROID STIM HORMONE
ASSAY OF GONADOTROPIN (LH)
ASSAY OF ESTRADIOL
GLYCOSYLATED HEMOGLOBIN TEST
ASSAY OF GONADOTROPIN (FSH)
ASSAY GLUCOSE BLOOD QUANT
CHORIONIC GONADOTROPIN TEST

Is anyone familiar with blood tests - is there anything not here that I should be asking about?

You will probably have to go in for two rounds of blood tests ordered by your doctor. One set should be within a week of starting a new cycle, and the second should be within a week after ovulation. They will be testing for different hormones in each test since they are at different times in your cycle. They will probably also test for a couple of different immunities and STDs. Make sure you fast (no food, and only water or black coffee) for 8-12 hours before your blood is drawn. I got mine done first thing in the morning so that I wasn't skipping a bunch of meals in the middle of the day.

Looks like hormone tests, thyroid tests, and blood sugar tests. Hormones can indicate if your levels are correct for the point in your cycle you are at. Thyroid is important for everything in your body, including reproductive health. Sugars are important because bad levels could indicate PCOS or plain old diabetes, both of which disrupt reproductive health.

I got my blood test results back
it looks like my sugar is high (diabetes runs in my family so that is concerning) - and my Estradiol is low

these tests were taken on CD5 so not sure where everything should be.
I have an ultrasound scheduled for later this month and then my follow up with the DR next month to go over all this
