Just got out of consultant appointment and...

They offered me a sweep and I refused. Not I'm sat outside on my own crying coz I don't know if I did right thing or not. Thry booked me in for induction on 16th oct when I will be term plus 12. I don't know if I should have had it I was all set against it but they told me about the risks to my c section scar and they really want me to go naturally.

I'm scared and don't know what to do. I was in agony with sweeps with DD.

If you would rather wait then you wait, I didnt have a sweep with DD and I went into labour naturally at 40+9 so it is possible. x

You don't have to take the sweep if they offer it. Why not wait and see if lo comes in their own time. If you change your mind can you always ring your consultant and book one? x

You don't have to rush. They tend to offer it more readily when women are on 2nd to 3rd pregnancy. I'm offered induction from 37 weeks due to pain in my hips, but I've had two natual happy births. I'm probably going to take it as I'm in that much pain, but originally, my plan was to go natural until 42 weeks (where obviously it's safest to be induced).

Imagine how excited you'll be when it all happens naturally, at home with your family.

Also, no saying it would of worked and then you'd of gone through all the discomfort for nothing.

Won't u have another app?? I have my full term app on thurs an my 41 next week. I'm gettin a sweep this week an next an gettin my induction date. Maybe have loadsa sex between now an next app x

Thanks girls. I think I was being too emotional earlier. I mean I only refused a sweep no big deal! But at the time I felt upset coz I didn't know they were going to offer me one and i didnt know what to do.

I have a MW appointment on Thursday of this week and the consultant thinks I'm going to have a sweep then I think I might simply because I'm a bit worried I go 12 days over then I have to be induced.
