Hi ladies...DH and I have been TTC for 3 months. I've been suspecting that I might have a progesterone deficiency for the last year or so and actually used natural progesterone cream for a month before TTC and noticed improvement in my PMS symptoms (bloating, weight gain, breast tenderness and swelling). I stopped taking it when we decided to start TTC because I didn't really know if I had low progesterone and thought it best if we just did everything naturally. Well, this cycle I got a faint BFP at 10dpo, 11dpo and 12dpo but it wasn't getting darker. Yesterday at 12dpo I started spotting. BFN today. Big temp drop and AF arrived this evening.

I'm pretty heartbroken as I'm sure you can all understand. I'm happy to know we can get pregnant but now I'm scared that my body can't support a pregnancy. I have almost every symptom of low progesterone (breast tenderness and swelling, bloating, weight gain, extreme PMS - was diagnosed with PMDD a few years ago, low BBT, slow rise after ovulation, shortish luteal phase (12 days with spotting starting at 10dpo), low cholesterol (but normal weight), thyroid function on low normal end, and now early miscarriage).

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what you've done to treat it / if you've gone on to have a successful pregnancy? When I saw my general doctor a year ago she told me I was "grasping at straws" and basically that she didn't think anything was wrong with me.

Hi chemicals are unfortunately quite common x x x not always caused by low progesterone...Sometimes faulty egg or sperm etc. Anyway not sure where you are but in uk they like to be trying for a while before investigation...depends on your age too. I have had hormones tests done and have been prescribed progesterone for next cycle I get bfp.

I would keep ttc then perhaps go and speak to your doctor in another few months... (they say like 12 months trying I think but I went a little earlier than that)

So sorry for your loss ...CPs are very cruel xxx

You could get OTC progesterone cream but that may not be strong enough to help. Id ask the dr for a CD21 Progesterone test this cycle.

Thanks for the responses, ladies. I did see me Obgyn last week and she drew blood to run some tests (hormone levels, ovarian reserve). I was surprised she was willing to do that after only 3 months TTC but perhaps because I'll be 34 in a few months. I've had a pretty normal AF this month so FX I have a normal cycle. I'm hopeful that I get another BFP that sticks without additional hormones. She did suggest I take "Pregnitude" - I guess it's supposed to help regulate your cycles / PMS symptoms and egg quality.
