Hi everyone

I have decided to move over to this forum as I think I will be able to relate with you ladies a little more! I'm on cd1 of my 15th cycle off ttc and am feeling rather frustrated that I can't make this happen :( I have unexplained infertility and and had every test you could imagine, dh has also been tested we are both healthy and everything is working as it should... We have tried everything, trying, not trying, legs up, preseed, opk, temping, relaxing, green tea, drinking lots of water, vitamins and last month was our first month on clomid and nothing, I start my second round today... So I guess I'm looking for someone that can relate to my unexplained infertility journey as its a very loney and frustrating one

Hi LANs

I could of written that myself ... All except the part about clomid. We initially went from male factor infertility to unexplained, which is worse as there is just no reason why!

I am nearing the end of our 15 th month, expecting AF on Saturday, hopefully not, but with our track record, I just know that she will be here bang on time. I try not to symptom spot, this far down into TTC, but can't help myself . . . This month I have had some weird pinching on and off since ovulation, hoping it is something, but I probably pulled a muscle in spin class or something.

Have you tried the CBFM? It was my first cycle using it and I didn't get a peak (which is expected) so I am looking forward to next cycle where it will hopefully give me a peak reading.

What was the doctors reasoning behind clomid? No one has suggested that for me and I am interested why they did for you? Perhaps it is something I should look into? I ovulate regularly on my own each month so not sure it would benefit us?

Hey.

I can't relate to the unexplained part but I can relate to the infertility part.

My husband and I have been trying for 50 months and I can tell you, it doesn't get any easier, if anything, it gets harder, but hopefully you find ways to deal with it.

How did you find the Clomid? I have done several rounds on it and found that it did help me ovulate (something I have NEVER done so that was fantastic!) but unfortunately the eggs weren't strong enough. I have done one round at 50mg, one at 100mg, one at 200mg and I have lost count of how many at 150mg. I was originally given a six month course but in November 2011 I was placed on the waiting list for injections and advised that although the chances of the Clomid resulting in a successful pregnancy after being on it for six rounds already, I might as well continue with it whilst waiting for the injections as at least I have some chance. I took a few months off in the spring and hoped that maybe after being on medication for a while, quitting smoking and losing weight would help my body get to the way it should be but unfortunately not. I am hopeful that I will be starting the injections next month.

Are you having any side effects with the Clomid? Many women get them. The only side effect I experienced was hot flushes and I have found that the longer I am on the Clomid the less I get them.

Like your husband, my husband has fantastic sperm. I feel for the guy though, I keep telling everyone who asks about the fertility that it's brilliant. My bad.

Sorry, this post was more about me than you.

Anyway, I hope the Clomid works for you, it does for many women. I think about half have a stronger ovulation than they would without it and half of those conceive with it, so about 25%. Good luck, I hope you are in the lucky 25%.

Hi ladies. We are on month 21 ttc. I had an hsg this cycle and I've talked to ladies in other posts that got pregnant soon after. I would do it if you haven't! We are dealing with some male factor but the dr is surprised that its effecting us this much so I'm hoping my tubes just needed cleaned out! I feel like we timed it really well. We too have done every test, 3 months of clomid, opk, relaxing, acupuncture, preseed, vitamins, softcups, everything! Lots of prayer, bc I believe He has a plan

Hi ladies
It's so comforting that I'm not alone with this and that there are many of you going through similar things, just sucks that we do have to go through it.

Cazmania.. I havnt used cbfm as opk's work for me so I just use them. My doc put me on clomid cause he thinks it will make me release more or stronger eggs and hopefully there is more of a chance we can catch it! I also ovulate on my own but I will try anything at this point! Have they had a look inside you to checkout if anythings going on with you?

Princess Lou.. The 50 month mark would be heartbreaking :( I guess you would learn new ways of copping I suppose?? Yeah I have had some pretty bad side effects like the hot flushes, cramps and anxiety I am hoping this month won't be as bad..

Lanet.. My obg is great! As soon as we hit the one year mark he done a lap and dye, hsg and a d&c to clean out everything all at once!! He also said it should increase my chances of falling as everything is open and cleaned out but no such luck so far :(

Im think at this point im way past 15 months of ttc but I decided to stop counting at that point. I feel for everyone here, its hard especially when its wanted to badly. I have been on clomid before and from my experience it just gave me some nasty cramps. From what I read everyone is different...

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE HERE !! :d (hUG)

Unfortunately my insurance doesn't cover anything so we are paying out of pocket but that's great that your dr is being so proactive!

My insurance this time around covers nothing, this time around Im doing it all natural...

also I posted a post but My doc gave me Pregnitude. He says he gives it lots of times before meds and clomid these days. I looked it up and it it folic acid and my iso something...sorry..

I put a post about it in here if interested and if you think you are maybe run it by your doctor??

Im also on several other natural things I found on here in fact and ran by my doctor. Some have helped with the stuff im going through so far...

good luck hun

Oh lanet that is horrible.. I am assuming you are in the states? I'm in Australia and our Medicare system pays for most of our procedures and appointments.

I am on my 15th month as well...and I went to a specialist Monday and we are trying to confirm pcos...to see if have it and how my sugar is...I have hypothyroidism...Hashi motos ...haven't had dh checked yet...but seems like everything is against us ttc :( sucks! I couldn't imagine paying out of pocket on everything due to your insurance! But just think when you get that bfp...it'll all be worth it!!! Good luck Hun! :)

Yea you do find other ways. My sister sent me something, you might find it helpful so I shall post it at the end of this post.

Did any of you ladies find your HSG hurt? I took pain killers beforehand as advised but I was in excruciating pain throughout and cried a lot with it. My husband had to help me get dressed again as I was that bad. Made me convinced that there was something wrong but nope, I am all clear. I don't wish that pain on anyone but I hope that I am not the only person that experienced it.

What do I think is meant by my infertility?

I think it is so my husband and I grow closer, become stronger, love deeper. I think we are meant to find the fortitude within ourselves to get up every time infertility knocks us down. I think it is meant for our medical community to discover medicines, invent medical equipment, create procedures and protocols. I think it is meant for us to find a cure for infertility.

No, it is not that we are never meant for to not have children. That's not my destiny; that's just a fork in the road I'm on. I've been placed on the road less traveled, and, like it or not, I'm a better person for it. Clearly, I am meant to develop more compassion, deeper courage, and greater inner strength on this journey to resolution, and I haven't let myself down.

Frankly, if the truth be known, I think I have been singled out for a special treatment. I think I am meant to build a thirst for a child so strong and so deep that when that baby is finally placed in my arms, it will be the longest, coolest, most refreshing drink I've ever known.

While I would never choose infertility, I can not deny that a fertile woman could never know the joy that awaits me. Yes, one way or another, I will have a baby of my own. And the next time someone wants to offer me unsolicited advice I'll say, "Don't tell me why I have been handed infertility. I already know."

Oh my goodness! This actually made me cry! How beautiful! Thank you for sharing! :hugs:

I had my hsg done while I was asleep with the other procedures and it took me over a week to recover, it was horrible! But it's all for a good cause!

Hi Lanet

I hope that the HSG helps you, but I have had both the saline sonogram and the HSG and still nothing.

Whats your hubby's morphology like? My Hubbys Count is extremely high, but low morphology.

I had the saline one and it was uncomfortable but not terrible. The first test showed high count, low motility, and high white blood count. He did a round of antibiodics and the second test showed everything good except now low COUNT and still high WBC. More antibiodics. Haven't tested again, the last test cost a fortune. We are self employed which is why our private ins doesn't cover fertility. We will also pay out of pocket for the pregnancy, which we were prepared for, we just didn't expect to pay so much to GET pregnant. I really have a feeling that it will be soon though. I've prayed so much over the last 2 years. It's hard and heartbreaking but I think you do learn new ways to cope and not be so devestated each month. I rarely take hpts anymore, do you guys?

My dr wants us to move on to IUI.

Hi just hoping

I saw that post and even read up about pregnitude, pending my outcome this weekend (starting or not) I will be ordering it. Have you ordered yours yet?

Super crampy, so guess I will be ordering ........ha ha

My hubby also took antibiotics for high WBC and for an epididymis infection, which the urologist thought may have been damaging his sperm as that is where they mature. Unfortunately as the sperm takes 3 months to mature, we would only start seeing results round about now (maybe, with a bit of luck it worked and I get my bop this weekend).

The first fertility specialist said we could never conceive and have to do I've with icsi and the second said we absolutely could conceive its all just a matter of timing it better. He suggested timed intercourse and the IUI. Two totally different opinions.

My DH and I have also been TTC for a while, about 18 months. It is a hard journey. He had a high white blood cell count when we first went to the RE, took antibiotics and that has been fixed for a while. I had a ton of tests done, and everything looks perfect. So, it is unexplained infertility. I ovulate normally. My cycles are 28-31 days. Which is so frustrating because there is no "why".

We have done two cycles of 50mg Clomid along with IUI, both of which failed.
This cycle I am on my first of injectables, 150iu of Gonal F per day. I am extremely lucky that in New York State fertility is covered, at least some of it. They will cover IUI for a certain number of cycles. The injectables are not cheap. I am crossing my fingers that this will be our lucky cycle... I hope that you all have luck, too. This is such an emotionally and physically draining process. But it will be worth it if we are lucky enough to hold a baby in our arms at the end of it! :hugs:

I have my hubby on a 'Sperm cocktail' of 12 vitamins. I'm hoping they do the trick. I haven't tried pregnitude but may look into it. My cycles are long w ovulation around day 20 but all of my tests have came back normal so idk. I've had a lady on another forum get bfp after 2 years of trying by having her hubby take the vitamins for 2 months. She was unexplained.

I'm so sorry about you IUI not working. I'm scared if I move on to that and it doesn't work them I will be crushed.
