I'm 26wks so putting the pram up this early probably is crazy! I just needed to do something & the box was driving me mad. The nursery is filled with boxes as we're still waiting for someone to come & decorate it. Even though we've bought everything we need (near enough), I just don't feel like we're going to have a baby because the room isn't sorted.

So I put together the pram. Then freaked about germs getting in it & onto the mattress while we wait for October to arrive. I wanted to put it all back away. Instead, DH has helped me to move it piece by piece into the nursery & I've covered the mattress with a plastic sheet. I still feel like crying, but I feel a bit easier about it being out of the way of germs now. The nursery door is shut most of the time to stop the dogs going in there.

Has anyone else done anything like this? I feel so silly! But I also feel so upset

I haven't had this exact experience, but I want to cry around 4 - 5 times a day. Really for no good reason most of the time. Hormones are rough! I'm sure that the pram and the mattress will be lovely and soft and ready for baby when he comes :) You can always give it a wash if you want closer to the day as well. Hope you feel better soon xx

It'll be fine, honest!!

We bought our pram at 16w and have had it up a few times since then. Our reason being to get the dog used to it so it isn't all a surprise when she is born and we take the dog out with the pram, he hates the Hoover so didn't want him having the same issues with the pram! He is fine with it btw, he jumps up onto the sofa to peek in then just goes back to bed. It is as if he is looking to see if she is here yet :)

Could you just put the mattress bit in a plastic bag or a vacuum seal pack? I honestly wouldn't get upset, think about how many people use the same pram for number 2+ after it has been opened for years'

I'm not too emotional but def have moments now and then :flower: I do believe though that germs are GOOD for baby, every germa-phobe mother that I've known has had incredibly sick kids, every mom who's pretty outdoorsy and relaxed about things seemed to have pretty even-keeled healthy kids. Let your hair down, things WILL be OK, you've got this and just remember that when they pick up that sucky from the floor, it's not going to kill them, it makes them stronger. xx

You sound like me....... Sending love xxxx everything will be fine!
