Today I went to the Dr to confirm my pregnancy after my +HPT on Friday. I provided a urine sample and then waited around forever, then the Dr came in and told me that the test was NEGATIVE! AHH! I start freaking out, then she tells me that she has really cheap tests and that they very often have false negatives and I shouldn't worry. Really, you think it is possible not to worry, especially after already having a MMC this year?? She then went on to talk to me about first tri screening etc as though nothing had happened. I rushed home to do another HPT (IC) which was positive and darker than previous tests. She is sending me for bloods and but man, why does she have these terrible tests? I would rather have not done a test at all and just gone for the bloods. I am quite sure I am pg but really I don't need the stress. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hasn't happened to me, but my doctor's office did test someone else's urine and tell me I was pregnant when I wasn't!! :growlmad:

I'm sorry hun, that hasn't happened to me but I'm sure that is frustrating as hell. Good thoughts your way!!

Exact same thing happened to me! I took my test at home and got a very strong :bfp: but then went to the dr's and took a urine test and it was negative. She told me it was likely a chemical pregnancy but did blood work to make sure. I was upset:growlmad: to say the least.
Went home and took another test, then another the next day, another kind the next day, etc. all positive! I read up on here and saw that many dr's offices have less sensitive tests- I have no idea why that is!
My blood work showed HCG doubled so, so far so good. Have my first official OB appt in 2 weeks.
False positives rarely happen so if your tests are showing positive, you're pregnant! Take another test in another day or so just to ease your mind.
good luck!

YES!! This happened to me in japan. I had a super faint positive so I went to a clinic... and the doctor said I was negative.

Worst of all, I couldn't ask all the questions I wanted to ask becuase of the language barrier.

Talk about aggrivating >=[

This happened to me at Planned Parenthood! My doctor was closed so I went there instead, talk about a waste of time. I was like "well what should I do??" they were like basically clueless.

I went home and took 2 more the next day and they were positive, so then like almost 2 weeks later my doctor finally saw me and confirmed it. So annoying!

Thanks everyone, I am just going to try and stay true to my Id on here and stay positive and hopefully my test will too :)
