Just4Baby site - experiences?

I'm really stressing myself out now, like I wasn't worried about everything before...

I ordered my pushchair and carrycot from just4baby.co.uk on Monday, and had an email confirming the order, and the money came out of the bank yesterday. So far so good, though no dispatch email yet.

But earlier today I ran across some reviews of the site, and a lot of them were terrible. I mean really really awful, with people's orders never turning up etc. There were some good, but enough bad to make me really worry.

I panicked and phoned the company, and they said I'll get my order on Friday or Monday, so I suppose I just have to wait, but I have spent a LOT of money and I don't think I could handle it if that money was lost :(

Has anyone had any experience of this company at all?

No experience with this company hun, but I really wouldn't stress myself out too much until after the delivery date if it hasn't been delivered by then!
All companies have good and bad reviews, and the fact that they have some sort of customer services helpline is a good thing. I would give them the benefit of the doubt until made to think otherwise :)

Thanks hon, you're probaby right, I just tend to always assume the worst!

The woman who answered the phone kept me hanging on the phone for a few minutes while she checked my order number, and then a man came on the phone and asked what items I'd ordered, and then said straight away it'll be Friday or Monday and I'll get a text to let me know when to expect it.

I think with the reviews and not having some sort of email to say roughly when things are happening, it has made me anxious. I really can't afford to lose £400! Hopefully all will be well though and I'm stressing over nothing.

Saying that, if it went past the delivery date and the pushchair still hadn't arrived, I would be the first one on the phone ranting at some poor girl on the other end with no clue what I'm on about haha

Haha, I do that at times too, though I'm always at pains to let the poor sod on the other end of the phone know I'm not ranting at them personally if it's an assistant or a call handler I'm talking to rather than a manager.

They have an ebay shop as well as their own online store, which from what I gather is run out of a shop in Aberdeen. The ebay reviews are mostly positive with a large-ish smattering of the type of awful ones I saw on the review sites. Hopefully I will be one of the lucky ones. But I will be sticking with companies I know in future, I don't need this sort of stress! I wish I'd gone through ebay now, as at least then they will help you if you have problems, whereas I'm on my own if it all goes pear-shaped now :/

if you paid with Paypal you can file a report if they don't come and you should be able to get your money back.

I didn't use Paypal as I didn't go through ebay in the end, but direct through their own online store. I used my debit card so would hopefully be able to get chargeback from the bank if it came to that.

You should always use a credit card if making purchases online, you have a lot more protection then :)

Hopefully all will be fine though :hugs:

THANK YOU :D Seriously, this is what I need to hear this morning! I have a tendency to catastrophise things, so hearing that someone else has had a positive experience even with courier problems makes me feel SO much better.

Did you get a text message on the day of delivery or the day before? How long did your order take to come?

I phoned them yesterday morning and they said it'd been dispatched and promised to email me confirmation and a parcel tracking number, and I threw a proper wobbly at them in the afternoon when they still hadn't sent me anything, and now I have a very apologetic email with the tracking number in. So the pram is on its way, and as long as it is actually what I have ordered, it's all good.

I will not be using this company again, though, as I've found their lack of communication so stressful that it has pretty much ruined my week of annual leave because I've been so worried about this.

I will also be using a credit card for further purchases like this - I barely ever use my credit card, being of the mind that if I don't have the money I don't spend it, but this is different, as it's for the extra consumer protection, not actually for the 'credit' aspect of it.

Will update when the parcel arrives to say if it's the right thing or not!

The order came yesterday, and though I had ordered the chassis in satin silver finish, I was sent the mirror silver finish instead. All the other bits and pieces (carrycot, colour packs, car-seat adaptors) were correct, and it all works, so I'm just going to cut my losses and keep the mirror chassis rather than try and get it exchanged. It still looks good, and I can't handle all the aggravation of sending it back and going through all this again!

So, in summary, from my own personal experience I wouldn't go anywhere near this company, and they've definitely lost any future business from me!

I sent an email to complain about the wrong chassis being sent, so will see what they have to say about it but not expecting a lot to be honest.
