My first labour was awful. We didn't really get much chance to 'enjoy' the hospital and we discharged ourselves asap because it was awful and resulted in complaint letters about lack of care etc.

Anyway, we're going to a different hospital this time. We're hoping things will be calmer and we'll have more time. OH has suggested packing some pot noodles etc (for him) because they're dried goods so can go in bag now and be ready for whenever we head in. I know people suggest sandwiches etc but I doubt with us trying to get a plan of action in place for dd to get dropped off/collected etc from school etc (depending when things kick off) that sandwiches will probably end up forgotten. So i'm assuming there will be access to a kettle if he wants to make up a pot noodle etc?

I think it would depend on your hospital and what facilities there are in the rooms or whether the nurses let you use theirs. I'd check rather than assuming there will be one x
