Kiki13 & babybaker2011's journey through pregnancy

So quick question: Where did you & your DH meet? I met mine here (in Indiana) at church - kinda sweet, I guess :)

Yay! Thanks for making the thread! We met at a school for French language in India! We were both waiting in line to register. It was really amazing we met at all, because we lived at two opposite ends of the country, plus within a year of our relationship he'd moved to France!

If you don't mind my asking - how old are you and DH?

That is cool and so sweet too. I'm sure it was crazy to just pack up and move to a different country - sounds like something I would do...lol!!

I will be 30 in October and DH will be 32 in September. What about you both?

It was and we've had a really good time here! Have you guys travelled much?

I'm 23 and DH is 29. :)

I've traveled a little bit more than my DH. I lived in Germany for almost 8 years. I've been to Mexico several times, Ecuador & Puerto Rico. We were planning to go to the Dominican Republic, but found out we were pregnant with our firstborn and so we put that idea on the back burner. We've talked about going to the UK within 5 years just because my DH likes the idea of going to a country where they speak English...lol!

Wow where in Germany were you? I really wanted to go there for the beer and sausages but it's too late now! I'd love to go to the UK for the same reason - it'd be so easy to get around since everyone understands what you're saying :p

How're you feeling BTW? Any symptoms? I'm still struggling with nausea and some cramps and soreness in my tummy!

We were in Heidelberg, Germany - it was fabulous. I have to go back before I die. Yeah, a little too late for the beer & sausages :haha: - maybe in a couple of years or so.

I'm nauseous a bit, not as before though, which is good. I'm not cramping as much. I'm sure you're getting excited for your appt on the 13th - I'm excited for you . Do you have a list of questions for your doctor? I was always a nerd and took a notebook with me with all my questions written down  Do you feel as if your forgetting a lot more these days, I feel as if "pregnancy brain" has gotten to me somewhat already. I've forgotten so much stuff recently. :dohh:

Are you and your DH wanting a particular gender or it doesn't matter? I'd kinda like another girl, but I wouldn't be disappointed with a boy - as long as the baby is healthy, that's all that matters. Have you told anyone yet or are you waiting??

Oh yes I'm very very excited! And I'm a big list maker so I already have a list of my symptoms (nausea, cramping, a little soreness near my belly button) and lots of questions, even ones that are seeming really silly. I'm also hoping the doctor will agree for an ultrasound before 12 weeks just so that I can see the baby!

I think pregnancy has made me more clumsy than forgetful - I keep dropping and spilling stuff. At least I have an excuse :p

We've told our parents and siblings (1 each) but no one else. We may tell one or two close family members after the doctor appointment and everyone else at 13-14 weeks, I think. I was secretly hoping for a daughter but had a dream where I had a boy! So now I'm okay with both.

Have you told ppl yet? And is DD old enough to understand?

That would be great if the doctor does agree to an ultrasound - I'll keep my fx'd for you. Oh yeah, clumsiness is a part of pregnancy too :haha: but I'm clumsy regardless of pregnancy:blush:

We've told my mom, my sister and some really close friends and that's about it. We haven't told my in-laws yet because they can't keep secrets and I'd hate for all of my DH's family to know and something goes wrong - it would kill me to have to face them all. They gossip way too much anyway

My DD isn't old enough to understand yet. I'm thinking maybe in about 6 more months when she'll be 2 years old, she might.

I think I overexerted myself today. I had my lo in her carrier while I was cleaning for about 30 minutes and I started cramping REALLY bad. I had to sit down and rest for about 15 minutes and thankfully the cramps stopped. It scared me.:nope: Hope you're doing alright today and hope you had a good weekend!

Thanks! The appointment is so so close now! I'm super excited! I haven't told anyone else yet though. I know what you mean about DH's in laws. I would be happy if both my parents and in laws would keep this news to themselves for atleast another month but both are dying to tell some my aunt and uncle/DH's ,many aunts and uncles. I know they're excited but it can be so annoying sometimes! Rather than stress out though, I've just told them to wait until the first appointment and then decide if they want to tell whoever is on their list ass long as it is close family. I haven't told any friends yet. Too nervous and still too stunned!

Oh no - you really should take it easy. Although I should mention that I have been on a cooking/cleaning frenzy myself ever since I got pregnant. You're okay now, right? And no other problems since?

I've been having horrible gas pains plus nausea, which both suck. My abdominal aches and pains comes and go, so I've kind of gotten used to them now! As for the clumsiness, I don't think that will ever go! It must be so much harder dealinefd with a pregnancy (and symptoms) with an LO, right? Can't even imagine it right now!

Our weekend was great, thanks! We went out for a movie and then took a lovely walk through our local park. It has a beautiful rose garden and a lake so I always love walking home after a film. What did you guys do?

Feeling better today. :) I definitely was more cautious in what I was doing. Oh you poor thing, those gas pains can be so painful. I've taken fiber capsules over the last couple of days and that seemed to help a bit. That's so great that you're close to a park. I wish we had one that was closer, especially now that we have a little one. We have to drive at least 3-5 miles to get to the nearest local public park. Which city do you live in?

We worked in our yard and did some landscaping and it was not fun. :haha: The idea seems great, but actually doing the work was hard and it was pretty hot, so I kept stopping to take water breaks. How's the weather there?

Maybe I should ask my doc about fibre capsules! I've had the gas pains all day yesterday also :(

I live in Lyon. But we'all be moving back home in about a year, so I don't know if our LO will have a park nearby! The weather here is lovely, nice and sunny without being too hot and sweaty. But in a few weeks, it will become really hot and uncomfortable. Luckily it's never that way for long. Are the summers very intense where you live?

P.S. my doctor's appointment is tomorrow!!! :happydance:

Yay for your first appointment  Hope everything went well. You'll have to tell me everything!

Oh, I didn't know that you'd be moving back in a year. I'm sure you'll be happy to move back to where your families are. It is nice having family close.

It went great! I really liked the doctor and he did an ultrasound to check the growth of the baby. I have to tell you - the moment he zoomed in and showed us the tiny baby blob, with its beating heart... my heart almost exploded with emotion! The only thing is that the doctor estimated me to be about 5 weeks 4 days along instead of 7 weeks and changed my edd to Feb 12th. That's okay by me though - I'm just glad everything is fine. :)

My next appointment is on July 4th, when I'll be a bit further along! When is your appointment? :)

Awww...so glad you got to see your baby. It's so exciting seeing him/her for the first time - nothing like it. It makes it more real :) Yeah, that's great that the baby is doing well even if the date was pushed back a little. Who knows, I could be off on my date too :haha:!

My appointment is in 2 weeks - I'm ready!! Again, glad it went well

Yeah, it was magical! I'm glad your appointment isn't too far away now! Will they be doing a scan?

Yeah, I want to say that they're going to do a transvaginal scan since I'm not that far along. I'm so nervous and I'm ready to see my baby - it still feels like it's a long time until the 27th...lol. I've been feeling about the same with the nausea, so I will probably have to ask my doctor about a Rx when I see her if I'm not feeling better. Hope you had a good weekend. Do you do anything fun? How are you feeling?

I'm crossing my fingers that you do get that scan. It really is such a combination of excitement and relief to finally see your baby!

I had a crummy weekend, to be honest. DH is out of town (attending a family thing back home) and I'm bored out of my skull here! I don't have a lot of friends here and while I do try to get out everyday, I've been feeling super tired these past few days and so I'm stuck at home. Oh well. Atleast my nausea seems better and my aches and pains have gone down a bit as well!

Was your weekend better than mine? I hope it was!

:hugs: Sorry that your weekend wasn't that good. I'm sure you miss your DH terribly. It stinks being stuck at home. I hear you on being tired, the joys of pregnancy :) I'm glad that you're feeling a little better. My weekend was pretty good. We just spent the day with our lo walking and then on Sunday, we went to celebrate the high school graduation of my DH's cousin. So, nothing too exciting, I'm afraid. I sometimes feel that we're very boring people. Hope you had a good day!
